About Me

Hi there! I'm an American living in France (first in the south now in Paris). I have yet to update all the info in my profile so please forgive the few anachronisms!

Salut à toutes et à tous! Je suis américaine et j'habite en France: d'abord dans le sud et maintenant à Paris. J'essaie de mettre mon profil à jour mais je sais qu'il y a toujours des infos sur mes anciens aparts, etc.

CURRENT MISSION

osmosis.

ABOUT ME

I grew up mostly in Gloucester, Massachusetts. I moved to NYC for college where I studied Vocal Performance and French & Linguistics then moved to Boston. I just finished my M.M. in voice at Bowling Green State University...future life plans TBA but for the summer ('16) I'll be around the east coast living a bit of the vagabond life.

PHILOSOPHY

It's ok to go out on weekdays and be a hermit on the weekend.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Spread the word, be a nice and tidy couchsurfer. Repay your hosts with kindness and guests with generosity. I haven't been able to host in about a year which is sad. Hopefully I'll be in a house where it's possible again!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

a bunch!
prague, dresden, vienna, stockholm, riga, dublin, budapest, barcelona/vilanova, london, Montreal, College Park MD, cross-country roadtrip

Most recently hosted a great lady who took on a temporary OT assignment in rural Ohio and had a great time traveling with CS people all around Iceland summer '14!

finally hosting in NYC, Bowling Green, and at my Gloucester abode!

all wonderful experiences/hosts!

well there was one creeper but i don't think it was you.

Interests

always a tough one but i'll narrow it down to what's catching my fancy now
-music of all shapes and sizes! learning and playing and listening
-languages
-city exploration
-cooking/restauranteuring...general foodie activities
-bikes!
-going to the sea

Music, Movies, and Books

always a futile thing for me to do..but i like most kinds of music except for country (like nashville star/"save a horse ride a cowboy"/tim mcgraw country), r&b, and terrible techno/dance pop..same goes for movies and books i think..if someone who is a massive fan of country, r&b, or shoddy dance music chances are I would not like their book or movie choices as well yes yes simply i like anything that doesn't suck

recent artsy things that i've liked:

how music works- david byrne
eating animals- jonathan safran foer
madame bovary
master and margarita

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I really enjoy ferries. Crossing in Tadoussac in Quebec, Istanbul going through the Bosphorous, view of Mt. Etna, into Sicilia from Calabria. Not so dramatic but beautiful!

Teach, Learn, Share

music stuff? i can play the piano (not like lang lang but decently), give advice on vocal music specifically: foreign language diction, interpretation etc. a voice lesson perhaps? happy to impart anything
i've learned in school so far..

help with german/french, sort of help with slavic languages: Czech and Russian (yay cyrillic)

perhaps make chocolate chip cookies!

I enjoy learning more nerdy history about your city, languages, cultural events, history... frolicing?

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Mexico, Morocco, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom
