About Me

Please note only completed profiles with pictures will be considered.

CURRENT MISSION

Become an outdoor's woman.

ABOUT ME

Living and learning vicariously through other's stories and experiences!
Exploring, and occasionally diverting from my route to see where a random path leads.

I appreciate the arts; live music, contemporary art, performing arts, plays, symphony orchestras . . .
I enjoy home cooked meals, trying out new foods and learning what other's eat!

PHILOSOPHY

"whether or not it is clear to you, the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore, be at peace . . . "
~Desiderata by Max Ehrmann

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

WHY I'M ON COUCHSURFING

To provide a place of rest and shower to fellow travelers.

Connect with others I would not otherwise have the opportunity to meet in my hometown and everyday life.

"Strangers are friends who haven't met yet."

Have and contribute to life-enriching experiences.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting when I can; Recommending when I can't. Making new friends when I travel.

I began by attending CS meetings and activities, then organizing and hosting events in an effort to activate the Tulsa CS group (star parties, trivia nights, potlucks, museum outings, river floating trips, outdoor summer movie nights).
Although it has been some time since I have organized an activity I am always up for meeting.

Surfed with and hosted new friends!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ushered a loved one in their transition from this life

Waking up on the train to watch the sun rise as it rode along the Columbian River Gorge
Plant, grow and kept plants alive

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:

- Natural Family Planning and the little bit I have learned on fertility (and when to avoid it!) and tracking the women's menstrual cycle

- the practice of staying aware of one's surroundings at most times

Wants to learn:

- orienteering
- fishing
- budgeting
- color theory
- say hello, good morning, good afternoon and good night and thank you in other languages
- nutrition (for both humans and dogs)
- how systems work
- about new things

Share:

- my home
- my time
- kindness
- whatever I might know that can contribute to another's set of knowledge

I think it would be interesting to watch a live animal birthing. A lion would be nice.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, it really depends on the host, their interests, and the opportunity of what there is to appropriately share.

I like to gift live plants if I am able to while I'm surfing.

Do what I can to leave the place a bit better than when I arrived
