Hi! I'm Sylvain, 35. I grew up in Brittany, France.

With Chloé, my girlfriend, we're travelling this July the west coast of the U.S. We plan to visit San Francisco and to see the national parks of California, the Yosemite, the Sequoia, and much more. It'll depend of the time we spend on the road, we'd like to go through Grand Canyon and maybe to Vegas.

We're both teaching visual arts in middle school, and we're going to live together in Paris next year. It's our first great trip together and we would be happy to meet people, and to travel by smallest towns and see local cultures and food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been travelling several times using CS, in the US and Canada (2010), in the UK and in Eastern Europe.
Chloé never used CS at all but she's curious and open minded.

Doing Couchsurfing is an amazing way to discover a place, meet good people and share the greatest about places and all.

After having surfed several couches, I started to host too and it was as nice as surfing. Next year we plan to host people in Paris.

Interests

Literature, cinema, contemporary art, friends, beers, BBQs, traveling, eating cheese, hiking, and sleeping.

We like bicycle too and we'd like to do kayak. And we love to swim (we'll try to find an aquatic park to play like kids in the water and toboggans).

Music, Movies, and Books

Indie rock music, classic rock (I love Creedence), 90's rap, some metal : heavy metal, stoner, doom (we've seen Sunn0))) this spring : amazing!), Chloé loves Beyoncé.

We're both cinema lovers, I like classic police movies (Don Siegel, Richard Fleischer, etc.), science fiction, and French cinema. I'm not really into super-hero stuff but Chloé likes it.

Classic litterature, police stories, science fiction too (K. Dick), Chloé is a massive fan of Harry Potter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Beeing an extra in a movie, I've been playing a French cop of the late 1890's, I had to let my moustache grow, such an experience!

I can teach how to make paper frogs (and it jumps), and I'm trying to remember one joke at least.
