About Me

2016: I just finished a PhD in Comparative literature, in Paris. Depending on when you write me, I may be unemployed, I may be working in a museum, I may be writing an essay, or I may be working as a freelance translator. And sometimes all this at the same time.
In the recent years I have been kind of idle on Couchsurfing: too much life, work, study, and things happening in my life. But in the previous years I have been more active, both hosting people and being hosted. Slowly, I am willing to get back in action. As a host, I will be mostly able to show you around Paris, if you wish. Sometimes, my couch could be available: you can always ask me. It's rarer that I would ask to be your guest, but still it could happen: I kind of miss the feel of getting in touch with helpful people when I travel, it's a warm and very human connection. It may happen that I will ask if it is possible to host me and my girlfriend, that I hope to introduce soon to the joys of Couchsurfing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing since 2008. I have been on and of in the community (quite off, lately). I'm not the young wanderer anymore, and as I crossed the line of the 30th birthday, my way of living and my way of travelling changed a bit. But I still love the idea of being helpful to travellers, to share a bit of my time with them and give them shelter. Among my favorite mottos there are: "Be kind to strangers for they may be angels in disguise", and "Seja ben vindo! Se for de paz, pode entrar!" ("Welcome! If you come in peace, you can come in").

I have been hosted all around Europe, and I hosted some lucky few in my flat(s) in Paris. It has always been a good time with everyone. I am ready to repeat both kind of experiences, and meeting, showing around, partying, drinking, dining together.

Interests

I love rock and indie music, going to concerts, watching movies, i am a passionate litterature reader and a wannabe writer; I love going out, drinking with friends, knowing people, talking to people about any subject. Whenever is possible, I love to travel (often with low budgets).
I also love sport, expecially football (i am a Napoli supporter), and I like playing chess. I like cooking (well let's say expecially italian meals).
Recently I also started to be part of a small amateur theater company, which is funny. I am interested in languages and linguistics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wandering in Paris at night. The irish landscapes, and the smell of malt in the Dublin early morning. Pizza in Napoli. Bruce Springsteen in concert with the E-Street Band. Simon And Garfunkel in concert at the Colosseo in Rome. Hawaii. My family. My girlfriend. My friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show around the city I live, Paris. Or invent a funny situation.
I can also show you non-linear strange novels, if you are interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you'd be my guest, I would be glad to offer you a shelter for you to sleep (on a couch), and to spend a bit of my time with you, to show you around if I have much time, or just to go get grab a beer together, or dining together at home, and have a talk.
I'll admit that I kind of prefer to host couchsurfer which are not too much new to the whole Couchsurfing experience and that have a few references in their profile, but you can always write to me, even if you are new.
Preferred duration of your staying: 3 to 5 nights is what I like the most, as it gives me the time to get in connection with the guests.
