About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting my hustle on in NYC - learning about art and making it too.

ABOUT ME

TALKATIVE. Energetic. I enjoy lots of things and activities but eating and drinking are hands down my favorite. I hope to someday make a living as a writer/director/performer/etc/etc/etc. I refuse to settle down until after I've seen the world. I have had a good start but I still have a long way to go.

PHILOSOPHY

THE UNIVERSE PROVIDES. From there, I won't go too far into it but I believe in working hard for happiness, giving as much love/forgiveness/patience as you can possibly stand, self-reflection, sharing, playing, learning, laughing, singing, dancing, giving thanks, etc. etc. etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I preach the good word to anyone who I think would be a good host/guest! I'm a great guest because I share, clean up after myself and I'm fun fun fun. I really enjoy the bonding aspect of couch surfing! It's better than the free!

I have yet to host and I'm pretty excited about paying it forward. Covid has thrown a curve ball into that for the time being though.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined at the behest of a friend. A month later I found myself on an impromptu cross country road trip and couch surfing saved my life! I have been able to meet some fantastic people who shared their homes and cities with me.

Interests

Writing. Playing outside with my friends. Reading. Cooking/Eating. Dancing. Singing. Obviously - I love traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: It varies greatly. I like silly comedies, serious dramas, trashy made for TV films, classics, and foreign films. I am also interested in making films [I have a bunch of ideas for screenplays and have started to direct.]

Music: I enjoy modern rock the most but nothing too heavy. I can dig just about anything else (except for other genres' answers to hard/heavy stuff... i.e. death metal) and I will never be too hip to shake my booty to a catchy pop song.

Books: Usually I dig fiction published after 1900 but I am open minded to lots of things because I am a writer. I feel like I learn so much when I hop into something unusual. I've been reading mostly short stories and politics lately.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam with pink dolphins in an Amazonian flood plain while surrounded by moon flowers. The water looked and felt like tea. At one point I was surrounded by the dolphins. Everyone on the trek was really positive and having them there really enhanced the experience, even though they were strangers only the day before. THEN: we had fried chicken for lunch! I was overjoyed by the deliciousness so I ate with the cooks in the kitchen and they fed me extra chicken. That was December 30th, 2006. It was the best day of my life.

I've also done some other cool stuff but the dolphins rule.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook and eat. I will teach you how to make anything I believe I have mastered. (Guacamole is one of my easy-to-teach specialties.) I am also trying to build up my repertoire of things I can cook so if you want to show me how to make something yummy - that would be awesome.

Beyond that, I'll teach, learn, and share anything I can. Those things usually come up organically in conversation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always love to cook and I'm also happy to teach anyone how to make a dish that I've mastered. From there, I also like to provide whatever I can to make the hosting experience a party. (My definition of a party is just someone having fun. Two people can have a super great party. From there, the more the merrier!)

I also love sharing information about places that I've traveled and connecting people who can help each other (i.e. if you're headed somewhere I've been and I know someone there, I love to make an introduction!).

Besides that, general positivity is something I've got plenty of and love to share!
