About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm Tai from Taipei Taiwan. I went to Australia when I was 15 as an exchange student, and ended it up staying there for 4 years. That 3 years changed me from a shy Asian boy to a person who is open minded and interested in exploring everything about different cultures.

After almost 4 years living in Australia and 5 years in Germany and traveled around Europe. I've moved back to my own lovely island country of Taiwan.

I've loved every seconds of my life back in Taiwan and I'd certainly be happy to let you know how fantastic this island truly is.

PHILOSOPHY

Appreciate what you have. Respect not interfere.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It is quite a cliche to state that but I believe that couchsurfing is not about free accommodation.

Of course, through couchsurfing one does reduce travel costs. But that's not the main point.

I'm not that noble to reject the fact that couchsurfing helps me save the money that one would have to pays for accommodations. I believe that the same amount of money should be spent for good food and wine together with a good company.

To me, the main point of travelling to different places is not only to see the sites, but to explore how local people 'live' the city and couchsurfing helps me experience that.

When I travel, it is crucial for me to have interactions with locals in order to experience the city, not just to see the city.

Either through couch surfing or simply find some locals at locals bars or on the streets, I open up my senses and try to make sense of the logic of the locals.

It is through the interaction with the locals that I can truly appreciate a journey.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like myself to be a sponge that'll never stop absorbing. I enjoy a nice long talk with people who are well traveled and who has stories to share.
I'm also highly interested in people who can speak several languages and have deep understanding of different cultures.
