CURRENT MISSION

Stimulate my senses after they've become a little too comfortable. I want to learn and experience all sorts of things that I am unable to in my little isolated town.

ABOUT ME

I live in a small town in Alaska. I love it there, but I am currently seeking a change of pace so bought a one way ticket to Nepal. I'm a musician, love the outdoors, love to be active, very curious, and I want to meet people that can change the way I see things.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to be that Grandpa that has unlimited stories to tell their grandkids. So I'm trying to fill up my life with as many amazing experiences as possible.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really like meeting people. Especially the interesting ones. I provide when I can, and when I can't I at least try to help out by giving advice. I think this is truly one of those "the more you give the more you get" type of things.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted many while living in Alaska, and I have surfed in Argentina, Nicaragua, Spain, France, Mexico, Ireland, Colombia, and the United States. I'm currently gonna seek to surf some more. I want to meet you.

Music, adventure, laughing, eating, running, exercising, learning, loving, living, dying, experiencing new things out of my comfort zone.

My ears are wide open to all sorts of music. I play a variety of instruments, and play in a number of different bands. I admire music that attempts to challenge the ordinary, or at least what I grew up with. Currently I'd probably pick my favorite songwriter to be Tom Waits.

I hiked the Appalachian trail in 2009. It is a dirt path that stretches for about 2200 miles (3500+ km) in the United States. I think when anyone gives themselves that much alone time they come away from it with a new understanding of who they are and who they want to be. Yeah.

A wise man once told me the reason we like dogs so much is because they are not afraid to approach a stranger, sniff them, wag their tail, and maybe even lick them. Since I've heard that, I have tried to live more like a dog. I think the world would be a lot friendlier if we all acted like dogs. So please, go sniff a stranger.
