Since march 2011 I'm on an entrepreneural voyage of discovery in the very south of Italy. Telling awesome stories about cool places on my blog (http://storytravelers.com)... all with a heart for the planet and it's living creatures. I want to create impact by inspiring people to have more attention and respect for the place they go, without being patronising. The motivation has to come from within. Although I have clear what I want to create it's a way to the unknown, but it just feels good... so I walk on.
Before this adventure I had an energetic metropolitan life in Amsterdam and worked hard as a peoplemanager. I enjoyed until a certain point, when I needed to reconsider everything I was doing and follow my intuition and passion.
So i decided to break away from the this arranged life. And I took a half year break of advantureous travelling.. I've spent 5 months in Africa travelling from Cape Town to Nairobi. I had some fantastic couchsurf experiences and met the most awesome people. After that I decide to start my entrepreneural vaoyage. I've always been attracted to exploe the planet, travelling a lot. In earlier stages of life I lived in Australia and later Argentina and Brasil. Travelling is my passion, discovering what else the world has to offer and tell about it. I'm a curious person eager to gain insights, i want to live by heart ... and do what makes me, and thus others, happy.
I'm interested in worldly concerns like politics, cultural differences, global issues and environmental change. I can say i'm openminded by accepting different points of view, habits or cultural differences. I try to live with conciousness and responsability for my environment (people and planet). Next to all that elevating stuff i love to do what a lot of people like: eating, going out and dance, dance, dance, having fun and laught In Holland we've got splendid outdoor raves in summer! Come over some time!

PHILOSOPHY

There is a way to live our lives harmoniously with each other and the world.
It's not about the chances you take, but about the choices you make. Choose to be the change you want to see in the world.
Stop thinking to much about the past and the future and enter the now and see, feel, smell, hear what life's got to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I found myself travelling in south america travelling around. I met such a hospitality, that i wanted to give that back. So I participated by offering my space to let people from all over the world experience a local stay in a famous city.
Now I have been staying in Africa and I've met the most awesome people u could think of. So I'm happy to provide for the same as people did for me. Being an excellent host who allows you to dive in the Amsterdam local life.

For me Cs is about connecting. Worldcitizens who take care of eachother, who welcome eachother and open up, independent of any cultural difference. As a surfer you step into the life of likeminded worldinhabitants. You're able to skip the common social barriers which we encounter in daily life in order to dive in a local experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Initially I had great experiences in Cape Town, Plettenburg, Johannesburg, Maputo, Chimoio and Dar es Salaam couchsurfing at the world most marvellous hosts. I also stayed with locals who are not connected to CS, which was a very unique experience.
Before I traveled trough South America and got hosted in Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo in homes of friends wich i had met overthere before CS
I'm used to receive friends from abroad.
Now I've been hosting people from all over the world in my humble but warm home.
