To travel the length and breadth of the United States in order to learn new cultures, meet new people and reduce barriers between race, religion and ethnicity because that is how the world will become a better place to live in.

ABOUT ME

I'm a free spirit at heart when it comes to living life to the fullest, be it sports, eating good food, meeting new people who have something amazing to tell. I always try making people comfortable, understanding their point of view and diminishing the different sects, ethnic groups and nationalities we have broken ourselves into. That is why I chose to become a journalist - writing and broadcasting the problems being faced by this world, the solutions that can create new opportunities and limit misperceptions. I won the Fulbright scholarship for Journalism to study at New York University's graduate journalism program. I come from Pakistan, which is one of the most beautiful and most misunderstood countries in the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live. I think humans everywhere are the same. They have the same wishes, the same wants, the same feelings and desires. It is a beautiful world out there and rather than the media telling us how it is, we should go out ourselves and look for that world.

I've never done this before. A friend of mine asked me to create this profile who has been couch surfing for a while. So I decided to give it a try.

Interests

I'm interested in traveling and understanding as many diverse cultures as I can. I only have one life and it should be spent well by experiencing every color this world has to offer. In the end, all our needs are the same. We are the same, built with similar emotions and expectations so why differentiate. We all need to overcome cultural barriers to know one another. That is what I want to do in my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Life of Pi is my recent all time favorite. Imagine by John Lenin is the best song I have heard. I just visited Ernest Hemingway's home in Key West and would say he was a great author and a journalist. However, books on geopolitics written by Tariq Ali including the Leopard and the Fox is my all time favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Won the Fulbright scholarship for Journalism. Made a television report on a child back home who was crippled for life due to the negligence of a factory owner, who was later sent to Oman for treatment after my report was aired.

I want to contribute how people from Pakistan are amazing, talented, have the world's highest mountains, the finest sportsmen etc.
