About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Showing the world to baby Lua. My partner and I love travelling, and we want to share our passion with our little one. We think it's one of the best teaching we can give her to help her open her mind.

Enjoying life. Live live live! And, as I'm a teacher, pass on what I've been learning through the years: to live the present, to make the most of life, to improvise, to be spontaneous, to forget fears, to break monotony and to love every little thing I do, because those little things are the ones that best define a person.

ABOUT ME

Itchy feet. I need new challenges, keep on looking for new things to do, new people who can contribute to my knowledge of the world and the human being itself.

PHILOSOPHY

Live every minute of my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe that money is not as important as most people think, and lots can be done without it. Couchsurfing is a good alternative against the economic system that seems to rule the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Great so far. It started up in Poland with a Christmas dinner, then in the UK, Malta Mexico and Colombia. I have met amazing people through couchsurfing.

Interests

Travelling, reading, photography and meeting old and new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to list them here. We'd better have a chat and talk about music, books and films with a good wine or coffee.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Changing my solo traveller mode for travelling in family in a year's time. It sounds crazy, but it's the most amazing and beautiful thing I've done in my life.

Finishing my PhD in English Literature and still be sane (sort of). Seriously, it might not be the most amazing thing I've done, but definitely, the most difficult.

The most enjoyable: grabbing my backpack, starting the trip in Iceland, going through Canada, Mexico and finishing it in Cuba. And being able to stay most of the time with friends.

Last crazy one: getting up in the middle of the night to go up Calton Hill and take photographs of the moon setting over Edinburgh.

The one I'll never forget: quitting my job at the Edinburgh University to go travelling in Latin America, volunteering in different places, meeting amazing people and living for a little while wherever I like. Travelling slowly and learning a lot. I might be penniless but the happiest I've ever been in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been organising language exchange meetings in Edinburgh and showing visitors around.

I've travelled extensively and I've met good friends through couchsurfing.

Now, I can host travellers in Granada, Spain, show them around if I'm not working.

When travelling I can offer good conversation and food. I can cook for my hosts and teach either English our Spanish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love a good chat, although I'm not the most talkative person, I'm more a listener. I love contrasting ideas and sharing experiences. Couchsurfing is a fantastic idea because of the multiculturality of it.

Also, I can cook some Spanish local food.
