About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience everything. Learn anything.

ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty mellow guy passionate about experiencing and learning as much as possible. Right now that means going to grad school for Computational Finance at the University of Washington in Seattle. I just finished my undergrad at Concordia-Moorhead where I studied abroad in China for a semester (definitely recommend going there if you ever have the chance). I love thinking, talking, and discussing cool ideas. Whether it's books, movies, music, philosophy, economics, or the weather, I'm all about a good talk.

PHILOSOPHY

"Save yourself, you're dying in slow motion. You've got nothing to lose, so what's your excuse?"

-10 Years, "Daydreamer"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm still pretty new to CS so far but the one experience I've had was phenomenal. I'm still a student that tends to bounce from one place to the next with enough frequency that it's hard for me to help others find a place to stay quite yet, but I'm extremely excited about the opportunities this community provides for getting to know other people and places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed once so far — when I started studying abroad in China my junior year of college. There was a business professor at the university I was going to who put me up for a solid week, and it was an excellent experience. He introduced me to the food, the area, the culture, and everything else before I had even met a single student. I owe him big for that, and once I settle down plan on definitely giving back.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Performed a Vivaldi Double Cello Concerto in front of my Chamber Orchestra with one of my best friends in high school. Visited a giant Buddha statue in China when studying abroad. Also, just staring at the Hong Kong skyline at night with my friends...so beautfiul.

Teach, Learn, Share

My academic interests fall broadly into mathematics and finance, but my personal interests are more centered around things like arts & music. I used to play the cello (I still pick it up from time to time but not regularly), and still play guitar a bit and sing (and rap...when no one is listening). I love talking about what's going on in the news, what's happening in the world, and any ideas that require me to think outside of the box a little.
