About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live something new

ABOUT ME

New to couch surfing and here primarily so I can feel good about myself sleeping on someone else's couch by offering out my own one :)

I am 28, British, and have been living in Berlin for 2 years. I've lived in Germany for 5 years and before that I lived in Paris. I'm gay and live with my partner of now over 8 years.

I'm into languages and I speak a click language...how about that!

PHILOSOPHY
Life is too short for philosophy. And washing-up. Buy a dishwasher. Is that a philosophy?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So my percentage of requests I respond to is sinking - embarrassing!! I am often abroad on fieldwork (southern Africa) and my emails go straight to spam! So do forgive me. Very happy to host people here whenever I can :)

NB. Not a fan of last minute request! I have a life too, and it doesn't revolve around making sure you have organised your holiday properly ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, I occasionally couchsurf in a San bushman village in the Kalahari ;) But we have hosted a couple of people here now. Only positive experiences thus far! We haven't ever had to call upon others for the favour yet - but one day perhaps!

Please, please, please, if you are going to ask to stay with us, please do not ALSO ask for a tour guide. I'm all up for considering an evening out or a wine wherever, but I do not feel that I am here to give you a bed AND show you the sights. That is serious passive holidaying. If you aren't interested enough to do some research about the city and work out what floats your boat, bakes your biscuit, and makes your cookie crumble, perhaps you should just stay home and do sudoku or something ː) Jokes aside, I know some people are up for giving their left arm to every person who sleeps on their sofa, but I just want to help you out with a free bed and maybe have a pleasant conversation. The pressure of having to make sure you have a good time is often the reason I do not respond to messages here.

Art, music, jogging, cycling, languages, travelling, sailing, etc. etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Could need some time to do this question justice!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I live with the indigenous peoples of the Kalahari for about 3 months every year. Hardcore, out-there, in the desert, middle-of-nowhere type thing. I have my own grass hut and a new name, /Kaece :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Again, I speak a click language :)
