About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just finished 9 years in South America and currently (May 2023) in South Africa sorting out things before I head to the Caucasus in the last week of May 2023. Planning to explore Georgia and Armenia till mid-September 2023 when I head to Istanbul, Turkey to commence my attempt to walk the Silk Road from Istanbul to Xi'an in China

ABOUT ME

Love travelling (no-stop since 1999) and with that, my photography. Even though my travelling has been mostly work related (guiding, photography, hospitality and tourism) it has just served to fuel my passions as well as make some dreams come true; like my West Africa expedition in 2011 and some epic long treks and trips in South America. Meeting people and learning languages and cultures is something I can never look forward too enough.

PHILOSOPHY

If you're not living on the edge, you're wasting space.

Live your dreams

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't had the opportunity to host and have surfed once with amazing a family and their friends in Sao Paulo, Brazil and had another lunch meet in Lima, Peru. So South America has given me an incredibly good introduction to Couchsurfing - I will still hopefully be able to meet more of the awesome hosts I just read about - whether meeting for a drink and/or trips or whether enjoying their hosting hospitality.
During my time guiding people around Africa, I've met quite a few people involved with CS, hence I signed up too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only two direct experiences and they've been incredible; treated like family and a best friend - just love arriving in a new country and having people I can chat to almost immediately.

Interests
