Chi sono

Hey friends!

My name is Wynn, I'm 27 and I'm from Christchurch, New Zealand.

I am about to embark on 6months travel around Europe, starting in Germany from April til October and I'm super excited to get my CouchSurfing presence revived! For the past year and bit I've been managing an awesome bar in my home town - now it's time again to flee for winter and soak up some more of what this worlds got to offer :)

Open minded.
Friendly.
Light hearted. We're here for a good time not a long time!
Burner.
Easy going.
Conscientious.

Was abroad from start of 2012 living in Sweden for 9months and Germany for 6months. Then meandered through Eastern Europe, Russia, Asia before coming home at the end of 2013.

Also had an incredible journey with a very dear friend of mine more recently in 2015 road tripping from Canada, down through U.S.A, Mexico and Central America for 6months (in a very small car..."Micro Camper" (see photos..)

Can't wait to meet new friends and see more amazing places :)

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I found out about CouchSurfing in 2012 and had the pleasure of experiencing it's vast community and some of its incredible members in 2013 while traveling around Europe, Russia and Asia. Unfortunately for me, during this time we were getting hosts on my friend Simon's profile so I haven't retrieved all of the wonderful friends from my travels! Done my best to link back up with who I could.

I love the fundamental philosophy of CouchSurfing. Hospitality exchange.

Meeting new people from the other side of the world with this in common: helping people out who want to explore and see the world and giving/sharing insight into a host's home town. It can make your stay in any country/city a really special experience when you meet some great locals who are willing to let you into there lives, whether it be for a day or a week and just share in the buzz of understanding a different culture, maybe exchange some stories, eating/drinking and getting some tips of places to go that you definitely wouldn't have found on your own.

I'm so excited to meet new friends on the next adventure over the next few months! Whether it be a couch, a meal or a meet up :)

Interessi

Obviously love to travel! Meeting new people, cultures, countries and experiencing all that's out there to me is the best sense of living life can give you.

Am very fond of food and drink (and the culture that surrounds these two simple life necessities) NATURE. Adventure. Art. Good music. The beach. Road tripping.
Like to stay active and healthy. Hikes, sports - anything and everything, just love to enjoy movement! Work in the hospitality industry. Have run bars, restaurants, cafes. Most recently I have just finished up managing a Gin, Whisky and Craft Beer bar for the past 16months. And like most people on here - I can't keep my feet still! :D

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I can happily say, and am grateful that I have had many amazing experiences, seen many amazing places and done some amazing things in my life! but some include:

Road tripping from Canada---> U.S.A ---> Mexico ---> Central America (to Costa Rica then back up to Belize - you'll have to meet me to hear those yarns!)
-- all while driving / living in a Mazda Familiar Hatch Back... "Red Rocket"

Snorkelling in Caye Caulker, Belize - amongst green sea turtles, sting-rays, sharks, eels, countless incredible fish and MANATEES!

Boarding down an active volcano in Nicaragua.

Chasing down our runaway train in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere in Mongolia...

Lived in rural small town Germany as ...a dog au-pair?.. haha taking care of 40 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels! Madness.

Kiwiburn.

Love sharing stories about travel experiences! Can give you insight into our homeland and can give you info you need/want to hear about from the places I've been to and lived in. I studied physical education/health (teaching), love the outdoors and have 12years experience in the hospitality industry - working in a variety of different establishments! Love to talk, share about anything and everything :)
