About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to smile often, hug freely, and learn as much as possible

ABOUT ME

I'm a curious, fun-loving, adventure-seeking, friendly lil lady. (I say little...and I'm being pretty literal. I'm small in stature, but not in spirit!)

I don't have many recommendations here, but check out what people have said about me on Meetin. :) (If you're a member already, you'll be able to read all about me. If not, I took screen shots of the pages and uploaded them as pictures. You might need to zoom in a bit.)

PHILOSOPHY

We are here to help one another and share our skills and passions to make the world a better place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to become more active in the community.

My husband and I recently moved to Salem, MA. It's a beautiful city with a quirky history and plenty of charm. Hope to meet you soon. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was lucky enough to meet some really cool people through CS events in Madrid and Zagora, one kind soul even hosted me in Paris, and a whole amazing team of people welcomed me and my friend in Peru (parties, beach trips, places to stay)... They were all incredible!

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh man... I always freeze when it comes to labeling favorites... I'll just write some things that I like/info on the topics.

Right now I'm reading a book called Buddha's Brain for pleasure. (Super interesting! - It's about the neuroscience behind happiness, love, and wisdom.) Some others: Catch 22, Cien Años de Soledad, Shantaram, The Alchemist, 1984, etc, etc...

Movies: OK - I can do faves for this one... Princess Bride, Say Anything, Goonies, all Pixar and Disney movies, Ted made me laugh my face off, The Power of One, Taare Zameen Par

Shows: Orange is the New Black, This is Us, Community, New Girl, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Daily Show

Music: Right now I can't seem to get enough of the blues. (Whooo knew Bonnie Raitt had a kick ass blues voice? I only knew of her cheesy shtuff from soft rock radio until recently... Her bluesy business is really good!) I also love singer/song-writer and folk (Weepies, Patty Griffin, Ani Difranco, Kris Delmhorst, Lori McKenna, Brett Dennen, Ben Harper, Ray LaMontagne, etc) I mix it up every now and again with some- Pixies, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Radiohead, Fugazi, The Cure, CCR, No Use for a Name, NoFX, Cafe Tacuba, Maná, A.R. Rahman, Juanes, etc, etc... I'm picky..but have a variety of interests. :)

Food - I am an adventurous eater. :) I'll try anything once.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taj Mahal, Eiffel tower, my sponsor child's smile when playing with her at Science Park in Kolkata, the Mayan ruins over looking a teal blue ocean at Tulum, bargaining using high fives as currency in the bustling souks of Marrakech, planning national events with the Ministry of Education in Costa Rica...

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you a little Spanish, how to cook an Indian meal, orrrr a few games.
