About Me

"€œWhen writing the story of your life, don'™t let anyone else hold the pen."

Interests

I am particularly interested in trying out different cuisines, and fancy myself a foodie. I enjoy cooking and learning new recipes. In the future, I like to participate in Woofing and learning about organic farming. I would also like to attend Yoga & Mediation retreats in the future.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I completed the Tongariro Crossing in New Zealand in March of 2013

It was an incredible experience to see what my body was capable of doing. To date, it was the most physical challenge of my life. I hiked 800m uphill and completed the 19km hike in less than 7 hours over mountainous volcanic terrain. The altitude was changing and we had low visibility for most of the morning.

It was all worth it in the end to see the amazing Emerald Lakes that NZ has to offer!

Teach, Learn, Share

When I ventured to Sapa in Northern Vietnam where I stayed in a local tribal village. I stayed with an extremely welcoming family who had a small farm in the middle of a rice field. Their home had a dirt floor with no running water. Food was cooked over a small fire pit in their kitchen.

I was able to learn a lot from them and their community. The children in the family were quite exuberant, often playing in the fields and enjoying their time helping their parents take care of their younger siblings.

This experience was incredibly eye opening to us. In North America, many people "live to work" in the pursuit of acquiring goods and consumer items. It was really a learning experience to see how happiness can be achieved in so many different ways.
