About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

It's always hard to describe oneself... but I'll give it a try anyway:

I am open minded, curious, spontaneous, laid-back and always up for a laugh...

unfortunately I'm also.. impatient and unorganized, my sense of orientation is basically non-existent and I'm definately not very grown up (but hey, the longest period of our lives we are adults, so i might aswell be childish while i still can)

...if you can bear all of that I should be pretty easy to hang out with ;)

Like about everyone else here I enjoy meeting people, listening to stories, trying out new stuff (and fooood <3), seeing new places (and old ones too), learning about life, languages, culture and the whole 'sharing is caring' sort of thing...
I'd say I'm a pretty average CS person :)

PHILOSOPHY

go for it, fear is a liar.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I surfed some couches in Northern Europe and Canada and hosted a couple of surfers together with my family (hopefully going to host a lot more people once i got a decent place of my own, which is in progress). I also met a bunch of lovely people through this website I ended up travelling with in Canada.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

AWESOME.

Interests

I love adventures & traveling (surprise..), sports like jogging, hiking, swimming, anything that involves a ball (though I'm awfully bad)- currently started to play Rugby which is really cool, cross-country skiing, tried snowboarding, which I definately want to get better at next winter :)...)aswell as watching all kinds of sports.
I love MUSIC (listening to&singing in the shower :) sadly I can't play any instrument myself - the more I appreciate it if somebody can)- I actually find it very hard to understand people, who don't care for music (unless they heard me in the shower before)
I'm a nature-lover, I like to be out and about with my dog, art and photography exhibitions (although I dont know much about either and very rarely get the chance to enjoy one as I live in the countryside).
I love reading and roller coasters and music festivals and drinks of all kinds (warm ones like tea or coffe aswell as "cold" ones ;)) and the sea.
Well I could go on like this forever... basically I'm interested in the same stuff as most people I guess :)

Music, Movies, and Books

films I liked a lot
Into the Wild, Donnie Darko, Pride and Prejudice, Gran Torino, I rymden finns inga känslor, the Commitments, Chocolat, Argo, Amelie, breakfast on pluto, million dollar baby, Inception, the way way back, Sherlock Holmes, Angela's Ashes, the perks of being a wallflower, into the white ...

i find that listening to music can be a lot like eating ice-cream on a hot day... reading is more like travelling with one's mind. I love both.

music
the Shins, Coldplay, Kings of Leon, the paper kites, The XX, Darwin Deez, Foster the people, the tallest man on earth, Jake Bugg, Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend, Two door cinema club, Mumford and sons, Paolo Nutini, Jurassic 5, Campfire, Kasabian, Ben Howard, Macklemore, the Dubliners, Jukka Poika, Beirut, the Beatles, some electronic music, some old stuff... I cant stand metal, apart from that I'm open for anything

books
The kite runner, Smilla's sense of snow, how green was my valley, Irish journal, the hobbit, all quiet on the western front, harry potter, all of Jane Austen's novels, Sherlock Holmes, the pillars of the earth, world without end, the book thief, the quincunx, into the wild, One step behind, The Da Vinci Code, ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- whale watching in British Columbia

- cycling around Ireland for 5 and a half weeks

- jumping into the baltic sea in the middle of a summer storm after a can of beer in the sauna on an island far out in the Turku archipelago

- standing on mountain peaks - either at home in the Bavarian Alps or abroad - never fails to take my breath away

Countries I’ve Lived In

England, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Sweden
