ABOUT ME

If I could choose a superpower, it would be to make something out of nothing - oh wait! I have that power already. I believe in the ultimate power of ideas.

I love a good laugh. Enjoy discussing philosophy. I consider other people my elders. Learning from others is my favourite way to learn. I get bored of small talk pretty quick though.

I can only consume content so long before I feel the need to create content, for this reason I don't watch much TV or movies. Part of me wants to rip the lid right off of my life and see what flies out, the other part is much more deliberate.

As time passes I become choosier, why waste time on things you don't love? I have dreams and I think yours are sacred. I like to support those who follow a passion. I will respect and embrace your contradictions because I'm aware of mine.

I embrace paradox. I am very interested in the origins of human spirituality and the effects beliefs have on one's life experience.

Not having a home that is suitable for hosting, I've been away from couch surfing for a long time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have cooked suppers for couchsurfers, have offered couches for surfers.

Interests

I'm a musician. I love talking metaphysics, religion and spirituality (but not the gross, pushy kind I promise). I also like to play DnD or board games and crack goofy jokes. I write in a moleskine often. I read books too. I love live music from innovative artists. I love to practice with my band.

Sometimes I just sit somewhere and relax and do nothing and let things simmer. I meditate.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies? Not so much. I'm all over the place with movies. I'll watch literally anything. I'm not passionate about them nor am I indifferent. Sometimes I love obscure experimental films which challenge one's thinking and then there's Crank 2 which is a blissful assault on the senses. I like Superheroes. They are a modern mythos. I guess I like movies more for the "hanging out with humans" aspect.

Alejandro Jodorowsky is a personal hero of mine.

Books: Almost all non-fiction

I spent a lot of time reading all sorts of things and challenging my beliefs but lately I've enjoyed vertical edification. I don't like to debate for the sake of intellectual chest-thumping. Though I love a good paradigm shift and welcome diverging viewpoints and having new experiences I feel no compunction to convert or be converted. Share and let share.
