About Me

ABOUT ME

I was born and grown up in Janakpur, a small town purported to be the capital of Prehistoric Mithila, the birth place of Sita who is Ram's spouse in the epic Ramayana and the lady held ideal by Hindus. It is the hardest nut to crack having to describe about myself. Sometimes I would stop, smile and say hello to a stranger, sometimes I would sing aloud or perhaps yell with my loud hoarse voice in the bathroom, and yet sometimes just remain silent and observing. Humility and mutuality the sole and motto of life. Don't agree with non-vegetarian food habits- life is equal to all. Love Eastern Philosophies - Vedic and Buddhist scripts and Daoist philosophies, not a fanatic though. Love to read articles from yoga Journal. I find discourses by Jiddu Krishnamurty, Eckhart Tolle and Mooji very enlightening. Mystics like Rumi and Lao Tzu, Buddhist Monk Thich Nhat Hanh, Ajahn Brahm, Ajahn Chah, Spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravishanker are venerable personalities and I envy them so much. It's their inspiration that I find wonders in simple, small and little things in life.

PHILOSOPHY

To be present in Now and Here and to seat deeper in the inner-self should be a constant practice. Life is too versatile and dynamic to define and demarcate with a personal philosophy, its all about being softer and flexible, trying to learn from the manoeuvres in life than being contained with a finite philosophy of some kind. Love and Humility is my guide in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

"Athiti Devo Bhava" - Someone coming from a distant land to our native place is a Divine Presence and if there is any service that I can do from my side will evoke a sense of well-being. So,please feel free to email questions if you have any general queries about how to cope with things in Nepal, If both of us can afford time I am happy to show you around, I am afraid I might not be so entertaining but I can certainly share what I have learnt from life till now if you can be at peace listening to it, I am a keen listener and will love to hear your stories as well, you can decide whether tea or coffee will be more ideal to sit and talk culture, life and I am afraid to use the word religion but I do love the wisdom contained in it. A nice chit-chat over a tea or lunch/supper will offer me a new insight and a chance to look at life from sidelines of daily usual chores and in the process I will expect I will have something to offer as well.

Interests

Spending time in nature, walking through valleys and mountains, talking to children on the way and sharing moments with people. Solitude is a great companion and travelling alone is like being with everyone.
Love the pranayama part of the yoga, I am trying to spend time in asans as well, walking out in nature and cycling is a favorite pass time. As for games, fancy badminton.

Music, Movies, and Books

The music of silence and sometimes Tibetan, Indian and Sufi music.
All that we are witnessing is a wonderful movie.
Tao de Jing, Scriptures with concepts rooted in vedas, yoga, Buddhism and truth in general.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going across himalayas from Nepal to tibet from Simikot,Humla with my parents, Celebrating my 7th birthday in the arena of Mansharovar lake,Tibet, holy dip in its cold but serene water swarming with gorgeous swans and going to Kailash Mountain. Taking a holy dip in the Ganges again with my parents on the Mahakumbha fair in Haridwar, which is a centennial cyclic affair flung by millions of devotees was scintillating experience. Zhangjiajie and wudangshan in China evoked a great sense of inner spaciousness.
