to walk the course of the Erie Canal

ABOUT ME

an avid local day-hiker who wants to branch out into long-term excursions. my long and short term travel goals include walking the course of the Erie Canal, the New York leg of the Appalachian trail, travelling the entire Great Lakes region, and following the 90 to seattle, then down to oregon to take the 20 all the way home.

my work experience includes fence painting and repair, horse care, receptionist, dishwashing and of course doing that whole starving artist thing. will work for food and board!

at this point i will only be looking for places to stay. will work if required. other than that i'm a quiet low-maintenance person who would stay out of the way of anyone kind enough to have me

total newb! the only couches i've crashed on before are those of friends and relatives

i listen to lots of kinds of music ranging from classical to folk to punk. basically anything made before i was born.

not a big movie buff, though my favourite animes include UC gundam, Legend of the Galactic Heroes and many other series from the 70's and 80's

im always studying how to use wild resources from using wild plants as food and medicine, bushcraft, hide tanning etc. while i'm far from an expert in these fields, i feel like i have a lot to offer on the subjects (mostly with herbs and finding ways to recycle roadkill) and i would love to learn more from people who also do these things, or help teach anyone who is curious.
