About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Soak up everything the world has to offer.

ABOUT ME

Hello!

I am completely new to this but since everywhere I look people have been raving about couchsurfing I thought I would see what it's all about.

I have lived in Essex my whole life, with four years spent at Surrey University. I have spent a few years working for a National UK charity in London and loved it. But the urge to travel was just too great and in February of this year I left my job and I will be traveling the world for the next year!

I am starting off in East Africa and will be working my way East around the world ending up in Rio. I am very excited but also getting very nervous as I take off in 4 days!! I am intending to write a blog: http://essexgirlontour.tumblr.com/ to keep people informed.

PHILOSOPHY

You regret the things you don't do more than the things you do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to experience a city or town through a locals eyes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is where I fear many of you may lose interest. I have not couchsurfed/taken in couchsurfers before. I have looked into it in great detail and think it sounds like a great idea. Obviously as a complete newbie I have no experience/references, so I am hoping that some kind person will take me in for even just one night so that I can show that I am a completely normal, sane person!

Music, Movies, and Books

movies - the hangover, but mainly romcoms or sad films like the notebook.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took a tour around Cambodia in 2011 for 11 days. That was by far the most amazing thing, it was completely out of my comfort zone, a completely new culture, with a group of people I had never met before. And I loved it! It's the main reason I am doing this trip now.
