About Me

I am a geologist/geographer that is currently doing a internship at swisstopo in Bern. Please refer to the sections below to learn more about me. I am happy to accomode travelleres at my flat and explore Bern together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've made some very good experiences using couchsurfing to travel the world. Actually the first time I have travelled all by myself, I've used couchsurfing instead of ho(s)tels and the outcome was really great. Encounters with people via couchsurfing have been enriching and I've always largely benefitted from host's knowledge about local stuff. Further I want to highlight that I've been using the hangout function quite frequently. It has allowed me to experience great nightouts on very short notice.
I've always been a surfer, but since I live in my own flat in Zurich I'm willing to give back to all the travellers out there and be engaged as a host. I'm looking forward to meet you at my place!

Interests

I like to look at our world from many different angles. While my studies in Geology at university give me insight into the mechanics of the physical planet, I just as much enjoy looking beyond the physical reality and ask philosophical questions about our being on this earth. Further I'm very intersted in different languages and find learning to speak a new language a fun challenge. Over the past years I've become a true beer lover and a frequent user of the app untapped. I'm very happy to try out new local beers pretty much anywhere I go.
I play the piano and especially like the sounds you can create by playing crazy jazz progressions. In terms of sports I used to play badminton in a club, enjoy skiing and hiking and recently have discovered the enjoyment cross-country skiing can give. Although I have great respect of swimming in rivers and open water bodies, I find it interesting to take a dip in waters at unconventional places (hot springs, waterfalls...).
