ABOUT ME

I won't post a book right now but I will say that I was born in Miami Florida and was a shy kid with no rhythm. I was introduced to the performing arts and it changed my life. I dabbled playing the flute for 5 years, switched over to dance and theater won my heart. I went to a performing arts high school in Miami Florida and then switched it up for kicks and did business marketing at Florida State University. I have, as an adult, been able to connect the dots in my life and use all these skills and make something out of it. I'm a choreographer/Director and Arts Educator. Education of children is a huge passion of mine, so I teach dance and theater to youth through after school and residency programs. I am a die hard salsera. I love dancing salsa -its my release in life. It literally gives me life. I'm American-I look African, so I surprise the heck outta people around the world. I love life and love different cultures and experiencing new and exciting things. My ambition in life is to create international schools that promote, travel, language, and performing arts. I figured I'd best to get to seeing the world then-I'm still a novice in my travels. I've been to quite of few states in the America (which don't really count I guess) Latin America (Panama, Guyana) Caribbean (Trinidad, Haiti, Dominican Republic) Australia (melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane) and that's about it for now. I desire to have travel be a part of my regular life. I love nature, hikes, fresh air, and meeting new people by offering my gifts of dance. --I have a great life and I'm grateful for the awesomeness and challenges come along the way.

PHILOSOPHY

I will transform myself and by doing so I will transform the world around me. The four agreements: Be impeccalbe with your word, Don't make assumptions, Don't take anything personal, Always do your best. --Don't take yourself so seriously. I love my life-even when the chips are down. I try to see the beauty in everything and everyone. Don't sweat the small stuff. its ok to cry. Its ok to be angry but please get over it asap. Its hurts when people don't forgive you for your mistakes--so I try to forgive and not hold secret grudges once I do. Respect Elders, honor wisdom, but remember all the advice people give you is contingent upon their own experience. Take what works and leave what doesn't apply. -Ash

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to be a part of the CS community and offer free salsa Sundays as a gift as well as my cultural background. I live in an international share house and may at times (but very limited)may be able to offer couch to sleep on.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't officially couch surfed. My ex-boyfriend was an avid couch surfer and spoke highly of the community. So I'd like to get involved myself. I taught a few free salsa classes to the CS community back in March- it was great :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught dance workshops in Melbourne Australia, Georgetwon, Guyana, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, Port-au-Prince, Haiti--all in one traveling trip. Awesome experience. I met great people and learned so much.
