About Me

ABOUT ME

Hiya!

I'm horrible at this self introduction thingy but I'll do my best. So please bear with me for a while!

I've just turned 23 and have been living in Istanbul for more than a decade, so I'm pretty much ''Turkish'' by now.

I graduated from university in 2011, studied fine arts and consecutively began my job as a professional tattoo artist. I love my job to bits. Never could imagine doing anything else. <3

English and Turkish aside, I've studied German and have been studying Japanese for a while. Though I've basically forgotten how to bloody ''speak'' German, I found out that an hour or two in Germany helped bring my ability back. YAY!
Japanese, on the other hand, is a whole different story. I'm a beginner and in dire need of a language partner.

Anyways, I'm an ex pro swimmer, so I've been travelling around the world for meets since who knows when. Although most of my travels weren't done with touristic motives, they were brilliant.

Huh, I guess that's it for now. I'll update when I think of better stuff to write.

Cheers and thanks for reading! <3

PHILOSOPHY

It definitely doesn't count as a personal philosophy or anything but there's a brilliant quote I'd like to share.

''A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter, is not a nice person.''

I guess I just want to be someone who could be given as a positive example regarding said quote.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've actually just found out that such a concept and site exists. I immediately fell in love with the idea so I'm here to build experience. <3

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh boy, I'll just list a few examples and genres, otherwise, I don't think I could ever get over this section.

Movies: I'm actually quite closed minded regarding movies. I've recently realised that I'm not fond of anything but Marvel/DC, fantasy, horror/supernatural or action flicks with elements of fantasy in them.
Scandinavian and Japanese cinemas seem to be the only ones I break the rules with. I seem to enjoy them (the good ones) without such qualms.
A few examples; Cabin in the Woods, REC, Rare Exports, Trolljegeren, Død snø, Underworld(s), Batoru Rowaiaru, Noriko no Shokutaku, Jisatsu Sākuru and so on...
I'm also a huge fan on animations and cartoons. I especially have a soft spot for stop motion ones.
Again, the full Marvel/DC universe, works of Tim Burton and Henry Selick (animation and actual movies), Coraline, Rurouni Kenshin, Basilisk, Shigurui...

Music: I'll save every poor soul that's dared to read this the trouble and just list the genres.
Folk, melodic death, death, industrial, thrash, heavy, melodic black and power metal. EBM, industrial, industrial rock, 80s German origined industrial. Scottish, Irish, Celtic, Nordic and Japanese folk. Classical, mainly German origined composers. Bah, I think that's enough.

Books: Marvel/DC comics, shounen and seinen manga, any bloody encyclopedia which has the resources to quench my sudden interest in the topic at hand, the works of Salvatore, Tolkien, Eddings and kind, Koontz, Smith, King, A.C. Doyle, Goethe, Sartre, Miyamoto Musashi... Phew.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Great, I'm pretty sure I've witnessed some cool stuff in my short life but now that it's asked from me I can't seem to recall a single event.

My mind is blank. Help me!

Teach, Learn, Share

Umm, I'd be really glad if I would be able to participate in language exchanges. I can help anyone who is interested in English and Turkish!

But, honestly, we can talk about whatever you're interested in. I love learning new things so anything is welcome!
