About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making the most of a new lease of life!

ABOUT ME

I was born in southern India where I spent my childhood, before moving to the US for graduate school. I am an electrical engineer who works on developing technology (robotics, communication systems etc.) to better understand, sense, and protect our oceans. After graduating, I have now moved to Texas where I work on developing technology to more effeciently and safely utilize our natural resources in an environmentally-conscious way.

I love what I do and find satisfaction in creative challenges, whether at work or after work in my artistic endeavors.

I moved overseas to broaden myself intellectually and culturally. Its been a very satisfying experience so far. I am open-minded, and always interested in meeting people from other cultures and exchange stories and views on everything under the sun.

My interests are wide and varied - cricket, indian classical music, art, cognitive science, languages, evolutionary biology, robotics, cooking, animals, football(soccer), chess, poetry, writing, blogging, anthropology, travelling, hiking, spirituality.. the list goes on...

Another thing about me that you should probably know is that I am a cancer fighter. was diagnosed eight years back , and after successful treatment for a very traumatic recurrence a couple of years back, I am getting back on my feet healthier and fitter than ever. This has profoundly shaped the person I am and reinvigorated my passion for meeting interesting people and having meaningful experiences!

Life is short and unpredictable, and too precious to be wasted not doing all the things that you want to be doing, not meeting all the people you want to be meeting and not being the person you want to be!

PHILOSOPHY

The power of communication is the most powerful tool that humanity possesses. There is nothing more inspiring and amazing than opening yourself up to new worlds, philosophies and viewpoints by the simple process of meeting and talking to people from different cultures, backgrounds and places. It is such eye-opening experiences which have made couchsurfing so special to me and which continue to inspire me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am open to hosting if I am around ( I plan to be travelling quite a bit the next few months)
Looking forward to meeting people and exploring places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met some of the most amazing, open and kind people I know through couchsurfing. From the frigid mountains near Yellowstone to the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong, I have enjoyed wonderful experiences through couchsurfing and the awesome people that are part of this community. I have felt more connected in a shorter time with couchsurfers with whom I have nothing in common on papaer, than with some friends I ve known for ages!
I have osted, surfed and travelled with many couchsurfers and they have formed a beautiful mosaic of experiences which is growing with every CS encounter.
