ABOUT ME

Hi! We are Baptiste & Rhiannon, a Franco-Canadian couple debarking together on this glorious adventure known as CouchSurfing!

We've spent the last 8 months in Memphis, TN : Baptiste as an exchange student at the U of M (Go Tigers !), and Rhiannon an intern at Shelby Farms Park, helping out with their Farm-to-Fork Fellowship program.

As a way to conclude our stay here in the States, we are debarking on a month-long road trip (Road trip !) in May. Our game plan is so : Memphis - New Orleans - Austin - Lubbock - Albuquerque - Flagstaff - Las Vegas - Sacramento - Portland - Seattle - Victoria & Vancouver Island - Calgary.

We are giving ourselves a month for this journey, and are really excited at the prospect of seeing so many changing landscapes, the Pacific Ocean (a first for Baptiste !) as well as meeting new people !

We're independant, yet socialable. We're more than happy to hang out with our hosts ; seek out their reccomendations on our own ; or just venture out and discover things for ourselves !

We're here, with our open hearts and open minds, ready for new possibilities.

Although we are currently on the move, and probably will be for at least another year, we are hoping to meet and connect with other kindred spirits, who we may have the pleasure of crossing paths with sometime in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are currently unexperienced little ducks, about to jump into the big pond of CouchSurfing.

We are looking to deepen this experience together this May, while we road trip across the American South, then head up north along the West Coast into Canada.

For our road trip, the stays will be short (Alas, we did not have a say for when the school year ends, nor for our Visa expiration dates !), we hope to make the best of our encounters, no matter how brief they may be !

Interests

Bubbles, bacon, kale, playing silly songs, playing pretty songs, wandering around aimlessly in big cities, hiking and adventuring in the forest, meeting new folks to be silly with, to share adventures with, as well as useless and usefull conversations with.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Finding each other.

Getting around Memphis for over half a year, just by bike, and not dying.

We will soon be able to add to the list : driving from Memphis, TN to Calgary, AB in 1993 Toyota Corolla, that we suspect was most definitely previously owned by some charming, southern hillbillies...

TEACH

Baptiste : improv theatre, music (bass, guitar, ukulele), how to make a delicious Aligot (2 words : potatoes + cheese), French of course !, delightful puns...

Rhiannon : how to make a little crochet garden, how to feed and/or heal yourself from the forest, pancake master, English, as well as French...
