ABOUT ME

I a 'mom' type person. I've hosted exchange students for many years. I'm older; but, young at heart. I was born and raised in New Jersey. Moved westward and then over to PA. I wouldn't mind staying in Jersey...Union County, Somerset County..or Warren County. I'm flexible to a point!

My husband always dreamt of retiring to Florida. We did move here in 2009. He died in 2012. I am a single mom. All three of my children are living in Florida, now. My youngest is 19. She goes away to college. My son's the middle child of 25. He's getting married this spring. My eldest is 29, she's living home and working.

I have worked with exchange students from all over the world. It was fun, but now I'd like to enjoy some time for me. I may host again, but I'm not sure. These children/students are my children. It was a lot of work, but oh, so worth it. We all learned a lot about other cultures.

I can be very giving until I feel someone is taking advantage of my good nature. I will offer you the world, but if you are selfish and take it all, then I get very hurt.

If you are looking for an extremely neat and orderly existence, then my house is not for you. We live in our home. It is not a show place. With the sand, dirt, four dogs and two cats it isn't easy to keep up with it all, so I stopped trying.

I have a messy desk but I know where things are. We don't necessarily put everything right away when we are done. There is rarely a time when the dish drain is empty...and there may even be a plate in the sink. We LIVE here.

So, if you are looking for a show room this house is not for you. If you'd like to kick off your shoes and watch a tv show with a few loving pets in your lap..then come join us. We respect you, so we expect to be respected for who we are.

I am an extrovert. I like people. If someone would like to stay one or two nights, that's great. I have a spare room and a couch I will share. I'm very trusting. Please, do be honest with me.

Intereses

I love kids and animals. I cook a bit, enjoy reading and NCIS..lol and a few other shows. The internet is my entertainment..or the Moose Lodge. I volunteer a lot. I also LOVE to play euchre. I do that a few times a week. I'm now learning how to play mahjongg. It appears to be quite enjoyable.

Música, películas y libros

I enjoy various types of music. Opera's not one of my favorites, however, I do appreciate it. Movies? Well..chick flicks...adventure..some dramas. It all depends on who's acting in them. I enjoy historical novels, based on fact and some biographies. I do more reading on the internet these days than books. Not good..but why not?

Oh..my family and I were in a fire. I sat on a roof holding my two young children from harm until some kind people came to retrieve them. We were homeless. I worked two jobs while my ex was in rehab. We all survived.
