About Me

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in St. Albert Canada, I am a mechanical engineering student with interests in music, art, and sustainability. I'm mild mannered and easy to get along with.

I keep an open mind - I like meeting new people ,trying new things, and I'm not afraid to be independent. I'll talk with anyone and I'm excited to see the world.

I work hard at my job and in school, but I have many other interests. Lately I've been especially interested in sustainability - in energy, food, transportation, and lifestyle generally. I'm travelling in Germany as part of a sustainable engineering school. As a result, the Germany energy movement "Energiewende" is especially interesting for me. I've been trying to keep current on the German energy situation, as well as Canada's oil sands.

I play lots of instruments and enjoy nothing more than a good jam. Lately I've been into bluegrass music, learning the mandolin and banjo, and songwriting. The past few months have seen me playing my first open mics, and jamming with lots of new people. The acoustic guitar will always be my instrument of choice. Hopefully, I'll be able to find one in Germany along with some fun jams!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I'm crazy about Bruce Cockburn. I've also been listening to John Hartford, Norman Blake,Ian & Sylvia, and Gordon Lightfoot these days.

Books - Just about finished "The Wise Man's Fear" by Patrick Rothfuss. Since I started these books I've noticed myself wishing I was more like Kvothe.

Also working on "The Future of Oil" by Sanjay Patel
