About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is exploring new places and meeting new people!

ABOUT ME

I am a guy who loves to travel and meet new people! I lived and grew up in Florida, USA. I graduated from the University of North Florida with a B.A. in History. I also studied abroad in Ifrane, Morocco to learn Arabic.

I entered the Peace Corps as a Secondary English Teacher in Merke, Kazakhstan. Right now I entered Peace Corps service again as a Youth Development Volunteer in Ukraine.

I taught English as a foreign language at a school in Konstantinovka, a village. I also conducted several English clubs in Simferopol, the capital of Crimea.

Now I am a postgraduate student studying international relations at London School of Economics in London, United Kingdom.

As for traveling, I was in Morocco, Italy, Hungry, Spain, Kazakhstan, Romania, Moldova, Turkey, and various places and states in the U.S.A.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is having fun and be nice to others! Only through understanding and friendship can there be real harmony in the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I know people and friends who were in the couch surfing community for a few years. I decided that I want to be part of this wonderful community!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with friends who are couch surfing hosts. When I stayed with them, I met other couch surfers. Everyone that I met were cool and nice people! I also couch surf twice with friends when I visited Romania last winter. During my time in Ukraine and Turkey, I used CS a lot to meet new people or surfed with them!

Interests

As for my hobbies and interests, I volunteer, read books, study Russian, hang out with friends, watch T.V. shows and movies, travel, and communicate with people on social networks!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like various movies, music, and books! I have too many favorites to list!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I experience is living in Crimea. I have been living in Crimea for over two years! There are many places to see and visit on the peninsula! For example, there is this fabulous place called Mangup Kale. Mangup Kale is a historic fortress that is located on top of a mountain. Also there are caves where people used to live in. It was awesome to see this ancient fortress because I love history! You can also see all of Crimea on top of the mountain!

Another amazing experience is visiting Romania. Transylvania is an awesome place! I love old castles, churches, and cathedrals! Probably one of my most favorite castle is the one located in Rasnov! The Rasnov castle looks very old and very Gothic. I had the feeling that if Dracula would live in a castle, it would be this one!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, the main reasons I want to couch surf are because I like cultural exchange and discovering new places! When I met other couch surfers and hosts, I learn new things from them! I have lived in and traveled to many places, too. So I can share my experiences with other people.

I also like to explore and discover places with other people. Couch surfing hosts know many local places that are not located in guidebooks. So I would like to explore these areas.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, I can share my stories and experiences of my various travels abroad, be a great drinking buddy, offer good advice of places to see and do from the countries I visited and lived in, and I try to do simple cooking involving American meals, like grilled-cheese sandwiches and tacos!

Countries I’ve Visited

Georgia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Morocco, Northern Ireland, Romania, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine

Countries I’ve Lived In
