About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live and breathe

ABOUT ME

I have actually been a member since April 2009 but it was a joint account and as I am now traveling solo I opened a new profile.

I have been traveling for almost 4 years and have couch surfed all over the globe; Colombia, Alaska and Hawaii to name a few. It has been a wonderful experience and I have made alot of great connections and friends.

I never travel with a guidebook so i love Couch surfing as I get to meet real people, real locals and I get to discover the secret places that the guidebooks don't tell you about...

Sweden - I live here albeit temporary since April 2013

2013 - Iceland blue lagoons were pretty awesome

2013 - NYC is the ultimate city man!

2013 - Rocking in Miami

2012 - Bolivia nearly 3 months, Peru 1 month, Ecuador 1 month and heading south

2012 - Colombia 1 month there was definitely not enough

2012 - Las Vegas is amazing...what a buzz

2012 - Los Angeles is so much better and amazing than I could ever have imagined.

2012 Alaska Just about to leave in 1 week stayed for 6 weeks and its so beautiful.

2012 - 6 weeks in Hawaii - This was an awesome adventure on very different islands.

2011 - Just about to leave New Zealand after 10 months and wow what a ride, everyday is different and its bloody amazing here! Crayfish daily, fishing for red snapper, herding sheep, Eating amazing food, hitching a ride, bush walking and getting lost (a couple of times!), self sustained living, fresh chook eggs, kayaking, private beaches....all in all not too shabby!! NZ I will miss you x

2010 - Australia Made it all the way to the Torres strait....cant believe it. Living on Roko Island population 5.

On our way up to Cape Tribulation and hopefully further into the Cape York Peninsula...If anyone is going this way please contact us as we are gonna be hitch hiking and will take up any offers of a ride.

Just finished a long hitch hike from Darwin through to Rockhampton. A very long way. We are now hitching up the coast to Cape Trib we hope all being well.

Just hitched Perth to Darwin and had a great time with hosts along route, We leave to Bali today for a short time and then back to Hitch Darwin to Cairns!!

2009 - Austria and the rest of Europe

PHILOSOPHY

Life is what you make it, only you can change it for the better...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

NYC, Miami, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, LA, Las vegas, Miami, NYC, Alaska, Hawaii, Vietnam, Australia and New zealand so far and I try to tell as many stories as I go, I hope to inspire the undecided to travel. I love to offer tips to would-be travellers and love to meet everyone. Everyone in the world is a friend, I just havent met them all yet.

It is such a shame that I didnt manage to find a host in the entire 3 months in Bolivia...only country that I never managed to surf.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

There have been up's and down's, the lowest point was hearing the scream upstairs in another room from a host being stabbed with scissors by his crazy Vietnamese Girlfriend....suffice to say we left! A fella in LA asking if he could have relations with me, to my boyfriend and proceeded to be extremely seedy around me, so again, legged it and someone who by day 5 still kept calling me Caroline and never asked me one question about myself! Strange but true, everyone else has been awesome!

Other than that with my experiences so far, most of the people I have surfed with have been welcoming and so accommodating to me and I have really appreciated it. So thanks so much.See you in my town one day in the future, wherever that may be.

Interests

Life and everything in it..I truly do think that we all should try everything in this life...why settle for less than EVERYTHING?

I have been a writer, a careworker, a teacher, a student, a florist, a lead singer in a rock band, a traveler full time, a nail technician, an artist, a customer service rep, a swedish masseuse, a chef, a ballerina, a downhill mountain biker, a gymnast, a saleswoman, a disabilities assistant, a financial assistant, a beautician and an alcoholic (kidding about the last one, but one can be on weekends!!)

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything someone else recommends for me to read ill give it a shot. Just read the world according to Garp, Midnights children, shadow of the wind, Lolita and now Catch 22. I love all music, johnny cash, bob dylan, Paolo nutini, Florence and the machine...a bit of a mix. Shantaram is amazing!!! The curious incident of the dog in the nighttime, the house of sleep.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

learning to swim aged 22!!!

Singing in a swedish rock band and slightly overcoming my Stage fright!

Writing my first book (unpublished as of yet!) watch this space.

Sky diving, Scuba diving, hangliding, paragliding, parasailing, marathons, Dog sledding, Hiking up snow covered mountains, Bunjee Jumping, downhill mountain biking...anything that requires guts.

2010 - I jumped off a waterfall for the first time in my life a few weeks ago and was scared shitless but had to be done!!

Climbed up my first snow covered mountain last week on a 36km hike in NZ pretty good fun.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would love to learn to speak Spanish....and French

update: 10 months of spanish learned and now I have a French tutor in the middle of Sweden!

And I can read and understand a little Swedish...not bad!

maybe I will sing, maybe I will get stage fright, maybe I will cook some of the dishes I make as a chef here in Sweden, maybe Ill just make some noodles, who knows what CS will bring out in all of us!
