PHILOSOPHY

I am currently reevaluating my value system and aiming for liberating and enlightening experiences that both challenge and enrich my life. I seek to find that which is within and to give it maximum expression in my life. I feel and experience that we are far more than we could even imagine and seek to discover that through myself and others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to the Couch Surfing scene and my experience is really just that of being Hosted. I am currently not able to Host personally, but am interested in meeting new and awesome people in this way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Fairly limited at this stage. I have only just started participating and so far my experience has been good, and I have felt very well received by the couch surfing community. I am excited at being a part of it and eager to learn and extend my experiences.

I love going on adventures, seeing new and exciting places and people. I like being myself and being courageous, so I seek out those experiences.

Movies: Legends of the Fall; Troy; Eat, Pray, Love; Lord of the Rings; Thelma & Louise; Harry Potter; Fight Club; Million Dollar Baby; ShortBus; Cinema Nouveau movies; Mamma Mia; Rome; Limitless; A League of their Own; also preferably deep and insightful movies that stretch the boundaries and limits of social conditioning and/or imagination; Avatar; Rockstar; my tastes also vary and the list doesn't come close to ending there.
Books: Shantaram; The Life of Pi; A Story Like the Wind and A far off Place; The Journey Home; Anything by Ayn Rand - The Fountain Head and Atlas Shrugged; Anything by Georgette Heyer and Jane Austen; Biographies - Have read Oscar Pistorious'; Susan Atkins; Madeleine McCann; Nathalie Du Toit's and probably many more; Books on Philosophy - Critique of reason; Sophie's World; anything on Aristotle; I like books on Quantum Physics, but keep it pretty simple; The Alchemist; The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series; Anais Nin's books; 50 Shades (yeah - had to do it!)Gone with the Wind; books about Finance and the Markets; consumer behaviour and economics; Indigo Children and Children of Now; The Earth Sea Quartet; The Clan of the Cave Bear; and many more.
Music: Trance; Classical; Rock; pop; artists I like are Lady Gaga; Madonna; and Joan Jett - I find these women to be powerful and inspirational; tribal music and mostly uplifting and meditational music that touches my soul; Dead Can Dance; Josh Groban; new talent; familiar old favourites; music by MDB; reggae; Muse; Sahara Lounge; Lily Allen; Nelly Furtado; U2; and yes, I like Justin Biebr - there I said it! Enya; Amy Winehouse; I guess that'll do but - there's loads I haven't mentioned. :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a lone motorbike ride around South Africa for a year - met interesting people and learnt a lot of new and exciting things :-) I was able to branch into a great deal of what life has to offer and feel enriched by the experience.
