ABOUT ME
I'm staying in Brooklyn between spring and fall semesters, nannying in Park Slope, interning for a really awesome poetry and prose publisher Futurepoem and working at various locations for Milk Truck, a grilled cheese, mac and cheese and milk shake vendor at fairs like Smorgasburg and the Brooklyn Flea. I'm pretty busy! I like to read and listen to almost anything, but especially Radiolab on wnyc. I love to go to the movies.
I'm looking for a new outlook on life in some ways, or just to experience something that I might learn something from, or find new, inspiring people whose ideas help me to see the world in a more positive, though still realistic light.
I'm a poet/feminist/activist/funny girl. I'm interested in small things, like this bucket of frogs I saw in chinatown once.
PHILOSOPHY
I really like Namaste. That there is a piece of spiritual matter inside of me and a piece of spiritual matter inside of you that is the same, and to say namaste is to acknowledge and respect each other.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
looking for a couch! Someday I will definitely host my own.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am super new to couchsurfing, but so far it's going great. I'm staying at a friend's place in BedStuy while she's in Europe with her boyfriend. Her roommate and I are getting along well, we even did some stick and poke tattoos together. I already feel like I know things about Brooklyn that I could not have known any other way than from living here and riding my bike from place to place.
Interests
I like to watch all kinds of movies. Shitty ones like Anaconda and then Coen Brothers, Sofia Coppola, Tarantino, Wes Anderson etc. I go to a lot of poetry readings/write poetry/read poetry. Right now I'm reading True Beige by Cecilia Corrigan and J.D. Salinger's Nine Stories.
I like to listen to public radio and go on long walks or bike rides just exploring.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I go on a lot of weird walks in the city and in Brooklyn, and I think the most amazing thing was when I just happened upon that Joe Strummer Mural in the East Village.
Teach, Learn, Share
I just learned the trick to tic tac toe? It's hard to say what poetry is "about" but I know a lot of contemporary poets and different books of poetry that you might be interested in.
