About Me

CURRENT MISSION

New Zealand summer job hunting road trip!

ABOUT ME

Last year I spent 5 months backpacking the UK and Ireland. And what an amazing journey it was! It has changed me for the better in so many ways. I've caught the travel bug, and definitely want to head overseas again soon. This summer I plan on making a big road trip around New Zealand, but in the meantime I want to open the doors to my flat to travellers, as others have done for me in my travels.

PHILOSOPHY

Take some time to think about what you really want to do in life. And then go do it. Even if it scares you. Don't listen to those voices in your head that tell you not to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've couchsurfed in different cities along the way and have met the coolest people and had some wild times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Went to Stonehenge with a host in Southampton. Watched a giant MTV concert from the rooftop of a host's house in Plymouth. Learned to hula hoop from a host in Bristol, went to the Edinburgh Fringe with a Scottish host. Went on a pub crawl in the ale capital of the world with a host in Derby, spent the night in an old WW2 signal station with a host in Oban, was murdered with my own guitar string by a host in Liverpool, and can't wait for some more good times!

Interests

I've spent 3 years at university training to become a commercial pilot, and I love flying. I am now a qualified flight instructor and hope to soon find a job teaching others to fly.

I've been playing guitar for a few years now and loving it! I busk a fair bit which is really fun and have ended up meeting some cool people because of it.

Travelling of course! I love hearing the crazy stories from other peoples travels, and it makes me keep on adding more destinations to my list!

I joined the New Zealand Army Reserve at the end of 2013 for a bit of fun and some life experience, and it is definitely shaping me into more of an outdoorsman. I love camping and being out in the middle of nowhere.
