About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get better (help me at https://gogetfunding.com/me-bipolar-disorder-and-other-struggles/)

ABOUT ME

Colombian and Italian roots, I'm from Rome but now I'm living in Germany because my insanity brought me to the fool idea of studying philosophy at a German university: the plan wasn't bad, but I'm still on my way.
Since I've run out from what I called home, now I'm learning a lot about the world, people and myself. I guess I cannot say a lot about myself so far.
I'll still try:
Tendentially hardworking. I'm the kind of person who likes listening and learning, about people and stuff. I enjoy discovering new places, new music, new people, new food, I love making new experiences. I'm actually the kind of person who would like to try almost everything in life. No prejudice, no limits.
Lately I came out as genderfluid and transmasculine: if you don't know what it means, I could tell you there is google...but actually it doesn't matter. I'll just say I am biologically female, but I would please you to use male pronouns with me (he/his/him) and not consider me as a woman. Just treat me as a human. It should be actually obvious, but I'll also please the guys not to contact me in order to have sex with me; not just because I'm not interested in cisgender men, but mainly because this is not a dating site...and that's annoying.

PHILOSOPHY

Once I've read in a letter written by a man after having a heart's explantation and always wondering what happend to the person who had donated the organ:

"But now I know that it doesn't matter what happened to you, but what happened because of you."

We can change this world through truly living, believing, giving, loving.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

'Cause I'm a traveller, whatever it means.
'Cause I enjoy people, especially if they are open minded.
'Cause I travel often and want to get in contact with the place.

Interests

Travels, food, dancing, beer, whiskey, cigars, philosophy, poetry, sexuality, politics and human rights (specially: feminism, LGBTTQI*, disabilities), satire, languages, people, fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
really a lot, almost everything; in a kind of order:
- Reggae and raggamuffin: Bob Marley & family, Alborosie, Manu Chao, Sud sound system, Boomdabash, Après la classe, Brusco, Radici nel cemento, Tryo, Locomondo
- A lot of queer mixes of ska, indie and alternative or folk rock music: Ska-p, la Pegatina, Boxerin club, Mashrou' Leila, Alessandro Mannarino, Area 765 (ex Ratti della sabina), Modena city ramblers, Bandabardò, Crifiu
- Some punk and punk-rock: Gogol Bordello, Punkreas, Die Aerzte, Against me!
- Different kinds of rock: Ac/dc, Iron Maiden, Nirvana, Eddie Vedder, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Guns 'n' Roses, Red hot chili peppers, the Queen, Cat Stevens, Elton John, Billy Joel, Negrita, Litfiba
- Some soul, jazz and blues of wonderful singers: Joss Stone, Caro Emerald, Zaz
- Italian classical: Battisti, Guccini, De Andre', De Gregori, Rino Gaetano, Celentano, Gaber, Bennato
- Latin classical: Carlos Vives, Buena vista social club, Chocquibtown, Kumbia queers, Julieta Venegas...a lot of random salsa, cumbia and even a little of reggaeton
- Especially in the last time enjoy pop and dance too...and I like also other stuff I cannot categorize, like: Caparezza, Milky Chance, Stromae, Bilderbuch, Paul Kalkbrenner, Die Antwoord

Books:
I'd love to be the reader, but I'm a quite impatient person, so I need something I really love; for example my favorites: Orwell, Zola, Pirandello,Wilde

Movies:
Same thing, I'm impatient so I'd actually love to know more. I tendentially like those about human questions and problems (political, social, ethical and psycological). For the regisseurs, I love Almodovar and Benigni. For the movies: Into the wild, The Help, Matrix, Fight club, Trascendence, Elysium, A beautiful mind, Dead poets society, Pan's Labyrinth, Chocolat, Blow, Viola di mare, Volver, Carne tremula, Intouchables, Midnight in Paris, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Gegen die Wand, Goodbye Lenin ...

... and I'm always discovering new stuff

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

An open-planned half-hitchhiking half-couchsurfing trip from Barcelona, Spain, down to Fes, Morocco.
Alone, enjoying the huge kindness of a lot of people, bathing in the ocean, eating a lot of super tasty and cheap (sometimes free) stuff, being confident in the fact that, though having planned very a little, everything would have been alright. That mood actually has never left my life again.

Teach, Learn, Share

I considere myself ignorant about an unbelievable number of topics. So: just teach me.
Teach me about movies (I love them, but somehow I know too few), teach me about music (I'd love to open my horizonts), as about pop culture and politics; teach me about your culture and your language (I still cannot get through 100% of my own Italian ones: we're always foreigners). I'd be interested in every language, even though my next aims are: (better) French and Catalan; modern Greek; Arabic. And please, don't be afraid in (kindly) correcting my errors in the language we're using.
I love cooking, know something about food and a little about beers: maybe that's something I could teach. I'm experiencing travelling with very few money, so maybe I could give you some tipps, or just share my travel experience. I love dancing, most of all latin music - actually I'm better at doing it than teaching it (as always in my life, I improvise most of the time), but I could teach you some steps.
Languages, as everything else: I still have to learn a lot about them, but I could teach you what I know so far.
In every case there could be the possibility that you know more than me about the topics, so let's just say it's all about sharing more than teaching or learning.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Unfortunately I haven't use Cs very much since I was moving around and had no often internet nor an own place to stay.
Now I've got my flat in Mannheim and finally internet again, but I'm not living alone and my flatmate must agree about hosting someone. Still, I will try my best to offer a place to the travellers I think I'd match with.
Besides, I'm always glad to meet new people in town.
