About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Doing my best to live with my existential crisis and the implications that level of uncertainity has to my reality! I also happen to be looking for a place worthy of calling home!

ABOUT ME

Compared to the "average" CSer, I am probably not as outdoorsy, grew up in a culture where one was more careful with strangers and probably am not as spontaneous.

An alien where ever I seem to end up. May be a result of transient living.

My life seems to be constant struggle between resisting conformity and acceptance.

Wished I lived in a world candour was comfortable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

[February 15th 2018]

I'm in NYC for a few days to return to Canada as an official Permanent Resident. Looking for people to explore the city, perhaps encounter some culture, and definitely to share food/drinks with!

Interests

[Written in Summer 2013]

This is always a tough one. How does one ever successfully comprehensively answer this question!

I think I find a majority of topics in which I lack comprehension in to be interesting..Which is to say I enjoy learning.

As for a more consumable bullet point oriented answer:

1. Images. I enjoy experiencing films and still images. I enjoy making images and am also interested in the ethics, philosophy and technical aspects of image making.
2. Culture. This is an interest that would take one too many words to get in to, but in short, I enjoy experience and embracing different aspects of culture and contrasting that to what I have experienced in the places where I have previously lived and the implications of that to society. This could encompass observing the temporality of a society or better understanding the collective conscience to being versed with the language and history of a geographic region to something as simple as enjoying the food of a certain culture or picking up unique cultural objects.
3. I enjoy engaging in deep conversation about the bigger questions in life.
4. Personal style. (which can include fashion)
5. I think I can safely say that I enjoy a series of competitive sports. Playing, spectating and vicariously simulating. Specifically fusal, football, badminton, ultimate frisbee, ping pong, softball, handball, most team sports to be honest..
6. I am always looking to make genuine connection and meaningful relationships.
7. I am largely interested in social change. Not exclusively to but definitely including political change in Malaysia (where I am from).
8. Creative collaboration. I am always in the hunt to want to create and collaborate. I understand that what I can achieve creatively is always going to be limited to what I am capable of. But perhaps that is why there's you.
9. I am concerned with being being more well acquainted with my identity. Whether this may confirm or dispell notions of what it must be to be a human being, an "Asian", a Malaysian or a Chinese.
10. I like playing and caring for children. I think I am quite good with them and they genuinely give me much joy.
