About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seamos realistas, pidamos lo imposible

ABOUT ME

I have been about a lot of places, usually unable to sit still and stay. Now starting to settle in Berlin again.

I am originally from Hamburg, still somewhat attached to the place. I guess the attachment for home and the unknown just go hand in hand. The most interesting places I have lived are probably Guaranda, Ecuador and Halle (Saale) in the wild east of Germany.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have only been travelling, people didn't seem to want to come to Halle. Let's see what cape town brings once I have a place here.

I have met many cool people on couchsurfing, sometimes just hangouts for the moment and some have become friends over a long time. Let those become more!

Interests

I am interested in so many things it is hard to put my finger down on one or two. It is the same as with the question "What music do you listen to?" I love Jazz, Blues, Rap, Swing, Reggae, Ska, Rock, good Pop, Balkan music, Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton etc. and lots of stuff in between.
Politics must be on the list, as well as society generally. Sports: surfing, hiking, skiing, whatever is outdoors.
Having good ideas and making them happen. Laughing, drinking, dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books

The first thing that comes to my mind about books is an Uruguyan author called Eduardo Galeano, who has written (amongst others) two wonderful books: Wandering words and The open veins of Latin America.
Studying has somewhat taken my time for leisure reading though. Or for watching films.
My favourite bands are probably Jamie T, Calle 13 and Ska-P, even though I've seen and heard some very good Jazz recently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sitting on a boat in the evening in the middle of the Amazonian jungle. Everything is pitch-black but loud as hell: everywhere there are birds, insects and I don't know what for animals. All you can see is the most fantastic stary sky and the silhouettes of the jungle and all you feel is the beauty of the world.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belize, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Haiti

Countries I’ve Lived In

Ecuador, Germany, South Africa
