ABOUT ME

I'm an easy going adventurer looking to meet new friends and share our stories."Always leave things better than you found them" is my approach to life. This applies both at my host's homes and just in general.
Incredibly I've been on the road, at this point, for 6 years, from the top of snow-covered mountains to a hammock on the beach in the tropics. It's been a wondrous odyssey and I'm truly blessed to have had this opportunity.
Being grateful to my hosts, and helping where I can, I consider myself a low maintenance traveler who leaves a small footprint.

PHILOSOPHY

I've lived my life as a bucket list, experiencing all it has to offer, not waiting to accomplish my list at the end. It's been a rich and rewarding experience. My philosophies can be summed up as follows...
*Always leave things better than you found them.
*Adventure favors the bold.
*To live an extraordinary life you must resist an ordinary approach.
*A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Once I've made the decision to settle somewhere for an extended period of time, I would love to host other surfers. At this time, I'm looking to meet people around the world and build a personal social web. Also, I'd love to meet other surfers and travel together. It's sometimes nice to share the experiences with another.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Over the years, I've had many friends stay with me and I've always enjoyed showing them "my world". It makes it fresh again when seen through a new pair of eyes. With so much time on the road, I've made new and lasting friendships with many amazing people who have shared their homes and lives with me. One of the most satisfying experiences for me is when people I return to visit are happy to see me arrive and sad to see me go. CS has been a very important part of my journey.

兴趣

Travel...obviously, but I'm also a photographer and writer. I'm very physically active and enjoy a great deal of hiking and biking but also take time out of every day to meditate and be grateful for life. My real passion is hiking up a mountain and spending a part of each day with nature. It's where I truly connect with life. Reading great authors and cooking healthy and wholesome food is also a big part of my life, but my passion is to explore. In a past life, I would have been a stowaway on the Lewis and Clark expedition.

All music! Quite often I fill my day with it, the soundtrack of my life.
Big, epic movies are my favorites, but I love Independent films done well.
A few favorite books... "the Untethered Soul" by Michael Singer (audio version), "The Art of Happiness" by the Dalai Lama (any version)and "The Signature of all Things" by Elizabeth Gilbert. I've been taking some time to read the classics, Orwell, Joyce and Pearl S. Buck. Most recently I've been thoroughly engrossed in the Outlander series by Diana Gibaldon, a rich historical and fictional tale of life in the 1700's.
I haven't watched television in years, probably one of the best things I did for myself, but I do catch online movies that I like.

-hiking and biking the Pacific Northwest
-Cruise on the Yangtze River
-Walking the Great Wall
-Glow worm Cave, 300 feet underground, in New Zealand
-8 day whitewater rafting trip Grand Canyon
-Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta
-Living most of my adult life in a tropical paradise
-standing at the top of a snow covered mountain at sunset in awe of the red and gold vista of peaks
-Seeing the political system from the inside

New places shared with the locals, people who know all the nooks and crannies of their turf, allows me experience things I would never have otherwise seen.
I've tackled everything that has ever interested me in life and I've learned many skills. Whatever I can share, or however I can be of help, I do happily.
