About Me

Hey there!
Salut !
Holi parce! Q más pues?

Bom dia! Let's start with a recent update of my situation.

Been a while since i didn't had the opportunity to host since i've been working like crazy the past two years. I'm a sommelier, trying to be a modern one in my way, trying to do it with respect to our world and nature. And sommelier do not mean that i'm an alcoholic.. Ofc i'm passioned about wine and spirits, but my job is also about coffee, tea, soft cocktails, soda and so on. Even water, which is actually one of my main interest professionally speaking. And i'm also really found of gastronomy on the cooking side, which is nowadays worldwide a fantastic thing to care about.

Out of my job, i'd say that i'm still really found of theatre and acting due to my previous career, and defintely dancing, especially salsa, recently starting to do it with high heels in order to find a new style, to mix my feminity in my strong man side.
Big new thing in my life is the Slam. It's going on stage in front of hundreds people with a text writted by myself , kind of poetry but a bit entertaining while meaningful, and try to get the best out of it in 3 minutes max. Been deeply involved in it in France recently, and i'd like to promote it as much as i can. But of course all my text are in french..
And well, won't talk too much about it on paper but found myself to be quite concerned about ecology and our world situation. I'm involved in several organisation here in France, sometimes maybe a bit extreme but the situation is extreme as well.

Here it is for a quick view of me 2.0

I'm not verified. Used to be verified for many years due to hosting people, but now i really don't get it. I'm ok to pay 20 box a year in order to help CS to survive, but almost a hundred in order to be verified?? Why can't you just verify my phone number, my id and that's it? Why should i pay that amount, especially when my main interest is to host people, i don't get it. Making me a bit sad, especially with all the pressure you get when you're not verified.

Alright, now you can read my profile haha

First of all, something really important, It's written in my profile but nobody pay attention:
I HOST FOR AT LEAST TWO NIGHT
I see no point in having just a dinner with my guest, there is no way to really meet each other, and even more when you've spend the whole day travelling, get a shower and a good sleep ;) just make me feel like a hostel..
Also, because I got more and more bad experiences, maybe due to the fact that now people got to pay and since they do so they might expect a certain service from their host, I don't know, but I get really careful about who I'm hosting. So if you send me a request totally unpersonalized I'll probably not respond.
As you can see I can provide amazing experiences to my guest, but if you don't show anything like couchsurfing spirit, if you just enjoy the flat without proposing to cook or to do something together, I won't do it neither ;)

This being said, we can pass to the description.

CURRENT MISSION

Spreading the wine culture around the world!

This is my main mission on this world, but more generally, i can say that as a good french, i'm found of taste. It mean that i need to try new things all the time!!

ABOUT ME

Something between a cute and clean sommelier in penguin suit and a crazy latin salsero!

I have to warn you about the fact that since a few months, I came back from one year in Colombia. It was definitely the most incredible year of my life, by far. Really far. It was gorgeous, powerful, warm, crazy, stunning, a blast, la re trechimbota parcero!! Can't describe my experience with words. So more than anything else, I'm crazy about Latin culture and Colombia. I may listen Latin music 24/24 during our time together, including reggeaton, dance a lot of salsa, and sometimes speak a weird spanish. Get ready.

PHILOSOPHY

C'est au travail qu'on voit le spécialiste,
Pas à la grosseur du pinceau de l'artiste.

(the translation will be something like:
You recognize a specialist by his work,
Not by the brush's size of the artist)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd the chance to born in a family of travellers. During my childhood, we used to have a trip every holidays. Back in those days, it looked pretty rough to me, but now I can feel how lucky I am.
So i keep going with that pleasure now, and I share it with different cultures and people.
I need to travel, so if i can't, hosting people from foreign countries seems to be a good way to travel in my own house, and discover it again with an other look!

So, welcome everybody, and please let me travel ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As you can see, my experience is mainly about hosting. I haven't been hosted a lot, and the last time was a long time ago. But i think that all those hosting experiences gave me a good idea of how being a good guest ;)

PS: At least I hope so... oooops!

Interests

Well, i use to be an actor, so one of my biggest hobby is theater, but.. now I'm a sommelier, and as a good cliché, I worked for a while in Saint Émilion, so I'm really deeply found of wine and anything drinkable actually.

I LOVE dancing, i'm practicing salsa, tango and valse, but i enjoy moving like a beast on big beats songs too! My favorite kind of party would be good music of every kind, as long as you can move on it the whole night!!

If you're looking for me, search in a cinema..I'm crazy about cinema, i used to watch one movie every day since i'm 15, and when I lived in Paris i used to go to cinema one or two times every.. days :)

I'm very found of food, definitely, i'm a good cooker for my specialties, but i like trying new recipes.. Even if i'm really dangerous when i do it!

Talking about danger, I'm crazy about motorbike. Got one, a sportive one, so if you come alone it will be my pleasure to take you for a ride and show you the area.

I make a lot of sport, and i'm specially found of rugby. I like good wines, cause i'm a good french and, of course, i listen a lot of music! Voili voilou!

I don't like traveling.. I do it because it's stronger than me, that's all!

PS: I've made some singing too, lyric singing.. So i can turn on the mode "Opera" under the shower!

PS 2: Hahaha, you thought you could use this little thing down here called "interest" in order to get rid of my annoying profile and send me a quick but personal request? NO WAY xD
Keep reading my dear!

PS 3: you can understand the PS 2 only if you're on a computer.

PS 4: Sorry for all those PS. No more, I swear, this is the last one.

PSS: Btw, can you tell me the weirdest drink you ever had, in your request please? Professional curiosity, and this way i'll have the proof that you've read my profile ;D

Music, Movies, and Books

About music and movies, i won't say anything cause i really prefer sharing directly, and the list of my favorites artist and directors would be infinite anyway.
But i think i can tell you a little about the books.

So, my favorite writer is Niccolo Ammaniti, and in the next positions, we can find Boulgakov and Pat Conroy. This is for my top 3, but i also like Paul Auster, Zola, Maupassant, Bond, Von Mayenburg or Enki Bilal.
I got to say that i'm also a fan of Fantasy and Science Fiction. When i was a teenager, I spent so many nights eating all the David Gemmell's books, and the two first books of the Lock Lamora saga, from Scott Lynch, will always stay in my heart.
Now i'm more about Science fiction. I've read a lot of Philip K. Dick, before discovering that the french writers are also really good in this kind of literature. My favorite book: La Horde du Contrevent, by Alain Damasio.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling from Bangkok to Bangkok... by bicycle.
around 5000 km alone, in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Almost 3 month, with just my bike, a tent, cooking and sleeping stuff.
100% freedom

By the way, if you're traveling by bicycle, here is my warmshower profile:
https://fr.warmshowers.org/user/135084

Also took the transiberian train from Moscow to Beijin, but i was 12 and felt it more like a punishment at the time. How fool i was..

Teach, Learn, Share

Here is the bad news.
You can be my host or my guest, it's the same, you'll have to try my cook. Sorry for it. And my recipes come from my father, we transmits it from generations to generations of bad cookers, so if i share it with anybody, there will be some angry people!

I can try to teach you french, but i must warn you first that it will be painful.
Maybe the only good point could be the dance, but even here, after a few ones, i can't hold myself, and i move!

Oh and of course, I can teach you salsa. I may be a little white french guy, i've always been crazy about salsa, no idea why. So for real, even if you know how to dance, even if you got the salsa in your blood, I think I can teach you a few things... I can also teach you how to speak paisa, which is the way of speaking spanish for the natives of Medellin.
