About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting interesting new people, sharing ideas with them and helping them enjoy the city I've become a lover of....the local, non-tourist stuff and places

ABOUT ME

67 (argh!) act and feel like 30's, where have the years flown !?! Married to a shrink. Lover of the City, the streets, the small places, the "hole in the walls", exploring and wearing out my shoes on the pavement. Play around with Photography. Avid biker out of the city. Hiker of much of the Western US.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted one person for 4 days. So far that is my experience. Have read much. Enjoyed learning about the surfer, where she lived and enjoyed going around the Chelsea Art Galleries with her and having drinks with friends and acquaintenances

Interests

Traveling to new places. Meeting and learning new ideas from people, especially people who are not in my "normal circle" of friends. Cooking, biking, music, walking to learn about new neighborhoods and discover the "hole in the wall" and not so "hole in the wall" places. Conversations about science/technology, politics, social issues, international events ... virtually anything other than spectator sports.

Music, Movies, and Books

Most all music except opera and some Rap. In pop....I'm primarily a classic rockie. In Classical take me back to the Baroque up to modern (but not electronic). In Jazz I especially like Blues and New Orleans Style. And of course Chicago Blues of a generation ago.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two....the Galapagos Islands (2 times) and Macchu Pichu overnight.

I would also say biking down Haleakala in Maui (35+ miles downhill from over 12,000 feet to sea level) and through Death Valley California (from sea level to -230 or so feet)
