Newly retired and want to enjoy our life to the fullest!

ABOUT ME

My wife and I are healthy, newly retired, and love to travel. We are very much looking forward to being "host" and "surfers" meeting new people with various interests.
In the past, we have hosted international students.
We both love our golfing, boating, camping/ hiking in Algonquin and can go fine dining with wine or BBQ with beer. Chris is passionately involved with Grandmothers to Grandmothers for African aids relief and Habitat for Humanity, while I am just getting back into my former hobby of singing and guitar strumming. I am also a sports fan, interested in hockey, baseball, football and golf.
We have 2 children and 2 grandchildren who are the loves of our lives.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are learning and becoming excited about the Couchsurfing program. We will enjoy being hosts and can't wait to "surf."

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have had a few "surfing" experiences and have to say... we have thoroughly enjoyed our hosts thus far. We feel they have represented the true spirit of couch surfing!
Unfortunately, we have not had the privilege to host yet...but I'm sure our time will come!

Interests

We enjoy being active. Hiking, boating, canoeing/camping, skiing, golfing and seeing the sights . After hectic careers, we also enjoy quiet times reading or playing guitar / singing. Chris enjoys her yoga and NIA which is a type of dance movement combined with the martial arts.

Music, Movies, and Books

Larry: Many music genres.. have done singing of what became early classic rock.. playing of folk/light rock but love jazz, bluegrass, and classical as well. No particular movies stand out (although Saving Private Ryan was deeply moving), but I do find many types entertaining and should now have time to see more.
As for books I love good historical fiction or a biography of my people of interest.
Chris: MUSIC: Same interests as Larry, but I don't sing and you don't want me to sing....but I love to dance! MOVIES: Historical, Romance (depending on my mood), Biographies, Current Events; I always enjoy the Marvel Comics films (Iron Man, X-Men series, Captain America, Superman, Spiderman, Batman).... sometimes you just need an escape! BOOKS: much the same as movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Larry: Survived a rock-n' roll career in the 70's before finding a more sustaining career. Sang my baby boys then grand daughter to sleep.
Chris: An amazing career in Teaching (&Learning), my first International Habitat Build and my continual involvement in raising funds for Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign.
