ABOUT ME

Meri means the ocean. I am like ocean, full of surprises. I'm 22 years old and from Finland. I lived before in Barcelona and Berlin.

One thing that I can't live without is disposable camera, with that I can capture funny and lovely memories.

PHILOSOPHY

Nights which start with new friends and end up being adventures full of great music, conversations about art, life, anything basically and laughing in the city lights. My philosophy is to meet the strangest of people, go to the most surprising of places and experience life and learn something new about others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I did Eurotrip with my best friend in 2014, we traveled with train and went to different cities around Europe. On that trip I got into Couchsurfing which I found a cool way to connect with people, help other travelers and discover cities together.

Couchsurfing is a place to make genuine friendships and make the most out of it, hear stories and create something beautiful to this world.

Interests

I like art and in the future I want to study to be an art curator. I worked before in a contemporary art gallery and it really suits me but first I want to travel more.

Music, Movies, and Books

I grew up hearing music from Joy Division, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Smiths etc. But I love other kind of music as well.

When I was living in Berlin I got into techno.

If I'm cooking I'm usually listening soul or R'n'B, it makes me all groovy and happy.

From time to time I listen to hip hop, indie and so on, depends on the mood and what I really love is also classical music and movie soundtracks. I find piano and violin music so beautiful.

Movie directors: Xavier Dolan, Pedro Almodovar, David Lynch, Quentin Tarantino..
Some fav movies are In the mood for love, Lost in translation, Mulholland drive, Pulp fiction, Spirited away, Fight club and the list goes on. Seriously I love movies a lot. And I watch them a lot.

Ultimate fav tv show is Twin peaks.

Favorite book is a clockwork orange. I also love to read about psychology, I find it very interesting.
