About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Try understanding this world better every day

ABOUT ME

I am a German student in the final year of my international tourism studies.
I m laid back but (usually) well organised. I like to plan ahead for many occasions - sometimes I dont. I m constistenly inconsistent I think.
Upon first impression people sometimes get the impression of me being shy and quiet which will not be the case after I get to know the person.
I tend to be more of a interpersonal person rather than a group person, but can adapt and am in many cases able to like group activity as well.

When I do something with friends I like both, relaxing and exciting environment, depends on my mood and the other person of course.

PHILOSOPHY

Life every day as if it was my last but still keeping an eye on creating good opportunities for the future. I guess that could describe my philosophy in a way.
Seconds can change lifes and noone can prepare for everything, so I want to live today in a best possible way, learn something new and try to understand others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined Couchsurfing (end July 2013) because I like the concept and how easy it is to get to know new people. On my way back home from New Zealand to Europe I will hopefully make my first experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

On my way back home from New Zealand to Europe (SEP-OCT 2013) I will hopefully make my first experiences.

Interests

I like to do sports and wouldnt mind joining you with your sports for the duration of my stay (almost any conventional kind, am always open to learn new ones).

Conversations can be about anything really. I like talking about politic / philosophic / economic / ethic topics as well as about health related topics or just pure travel talk - however I dont have to do so, neither do I force people to do so, haha.
Recently, I visited a lot of interesting places and this trip is actually on my return from over a year of studying in New Zealand. So, I could come up with some recommendations about NZ if you intend to travel there ;)

I also like to learn new languages and try to teach myself Arabic atm - such a hard language to learn without a real teacher, haha.
In my free time at home I play in 2 VERY international football teams, enjoy mountain biking and badminton. I love having coffee (or similar - I actually dont drink coffee) with friends and just talk about whatever is on our minds - its usually good quality talk :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I m not too much into movies and refuse to watch horror movies.
I quite like watching a comedy movie from time to time as well as documentaries but usually just lack time to do so.
I usually also lack time to read books that are not related to my study. However, I quite enjoy reading good journal articles and books about tourism marketing and distribution as well as about contemporary issues in the tourism industry.
Music on the other side is almost essential to me I don't care too much what it is as I often listen to the radio at work or when I m studying. For studying, any type of music without a text is optimal: from classic piano concerts to house music. When not studying I listen to almost everything, dont like it too minimal or too much of aggressive hip hop or heavy metal thou.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Defeated my fear and jumped bungy... After the jump I decided it was not really a victory - so I did a second jump right afterwards... This one felt like a victory... mission accomplished ;-D

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you German, haha. Nah, just kidding - well, I suppose I could if you'd like me to ;)

... but languages are way too hard to learn from people who are not taught how to teach languages.
Sadly I cannot claim to share a traditional dish or something with you as I am not very proud of my cooking skills. But at least we can talk about food ;D
However, I can always share my opinion on contemporary things happening in the world ;)
