ABOUT ME

Living lightly on this Earth is really important to me and I have been working on living more sustainably as I go for some time now. It was hard to know where to start at the beginning but I feel like I've made a lot of progress over time. Of course there's always more to learn and I love to share this process of learning with others.
Right now I am also focussing on opening up to wisdom, connecting with what is really meaningful about life and exploring all that is soulful, spiritual, sacred.

I'm in Europe now firstly because I have lots of family and friends here who I want to spend time with. It's a long way from my home in Australia so I am staying a while on this side of the planet before heading all that way back again. I really felt the vastness of the journey on the way here as I travelled on a container ship from Malaysia to Italy, and I have travelled by land and sea since arriving in Europe. I like to really connect with and learn about all the beautiful places I travel through, the people, the culture, the history, the natural environment and all its elements.
I have also been WWOOFing along the way and learning through workshops, courses, meeting people, and other experiences.
I hope to continue to learn lots while travelling about simple sustainable living, growing food, natural building, craft, healing, yoga, music, dance, soul, spirit, sacred, energy... Also, I set my intention for my travelling time to be a time for me to really get to know myself better, to challenge myself and grow, and that's what's happening, even more than I ever imagined.
I like people and enjoying happy times together. I like helping people and I like having fun with friends.
Sometimes I think too much, but I'm working on it! I'm learning to follow my intuition and my heart more.
I recently did a reiki energy healing level 1 course in Ireland and level 2 in England, so I'm now qualified to practise professionally (happy to practise on anyone who feels like they would like some healing, more balance, relaxation) and I hope to continue to learn more about healing in the future.
I'm vegetarian and I like to cook, and eat, good wholesome nourishing nutritious food, organic and local as much as possible. Happy to cook for you if you let me know what you like. :-)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfing gives a chance to meet people who live in different places, interesting people (of course, since everyone is interesting!) and people who know the places as well, so it's a chance to get to know what life is like for the locals and find out things that aren't obvious at first glance! :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Friends recommended Couchsurfing and so I thought I'd give it a try and so far in my little experience of surfing so far it's great! A lovely way to meet locals in the places you visit.

I love to listen to music and I love to dance. I love to sing and play my ukulele (which is conveniently a good size for travelling!) and I have been busking a little along the way too. I like writing songs, and also writing poems and stories, and musings about life, the universe and everything (which you might have already figured out)... I like to draw. I like to read.
I love to be in nature, with nature. I could be camping, walking, riding bikes, swimming in the ocean, rivers or lakes, taking photos, or just being immersed in the beauty of the surroundings, the landscape, the plants, flowers, trees, animals, birds, each detail, and all of it together...
I love hanging out with my family and friends, spending good times, talking, laughing, having fun, being together.
I like making things, crochet, knitting, sewing, anything... I like making things out of other things that might otherwise go to waste, to reuse things and reduce waste as much as possible.

Музыка, кино и книги

Live music is my favourite, direct from the musicians. I like music with beautiful lyrical melodies and harmonies and interesting rhythms. Hard to go past a good bass line. I like music with a bit of hip hop or trip hop feel, groovy, funky, soul, afro beats, a bit of swing, jazz, blues... I like music that makes me want to dance. Music from all round the world. And it's also hard to go past some nostalgic 90s grunge from back in the day. :-) I like music I can sing along to as well, songs that I can learn to play on my ukulele. :-) There's not a lot I don't like when it comes to music really... I'm really connecting lately with ancient songs as well. And music from the heart and soul is always best.
I like a fair range of movies too, but I won't ramble too much about that as well, I'll just say a couple of long time favourites that come to mind are City of Lost Children and Himalaya. And I recently watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (again) to see the Cliffs of Moher, after going there in real life, with my nephew, who got me onto Harry Potter in the first place. :-)
Books - so many I love. Red Mars, Blue Mars, Green Mars series by Kim Stanley Robinson, One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, The Last Magician by Janette Turner Hospital to name a few random favourite fiction books that come to mind. Currently reading both The Celestine Prophecy Experiential Guide by James Redfield and Carol Adrienne, and Women Who Run with the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, and a book called Practical Intuition by Laura Day as well. Plus dipping into a few others that I seem to keep adding to my very heavy travelling library! Glastonbury bookshops are too full of amazing special books... A few of these will shortly be left behind on the travels though, to be revisited again one day when I find them again in some other book shop somewhere some time...

Probably a strange one thing to pick*, but I'm pretty proud that in one year my household of two people at the time reduced our landfill rubbish to just one bin (I think maybe about 100L capacity). Took some work to reduce to that level over a while of focussing on it. Hoping to do better than that in the future, I know others who have!
(* I also probably said some of the other things I would maybe put here already, like the freighter journey was pretty amazing, for example…) :-)

Yes. :-) I think I've already said what I'd like to teach, learn, share about in all the other fields… I love sharing what I've learnt along the way, and so open to learning more about anything and everything, I'm open to the unexpected!
