ABOUT ME

I am from Vancouver, British Columbia. I am a laid back, kind, outgoing, friendly Canadian.

I am a beginner when it comes to French but I am hoping to improve.

I like craft beer a lot. A LOT.

I love music. Going to concerts, festivals and listening to music is what keeps me going. The last show that I went to was to see the band "Brand New" in September 2014. I haven't been reduced to a ball of raw, emotional, angst-driven energy in a long time.
For a big part of my life, I was the lead singer of a progressive metal band, recorded two albums, toured Canada and part of the westcoast of the USA.

I am an employee for Municipal Parks and Recreation and it has opened me to experience new cultures in new places.

I like to have fun!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm still brand new!

2.5 years ago, I was told to try Couchsurfing by some friends I made in a 5 week French intensive language Program in Chicoutimi, Quebec (very Francais!). I was desperately looking for accommodation in Montreal and gave Couchsurfing a shot but a classmate from the program invited me to stay so I never got to couch surf.

I never got the chance after because I buckled down in school and got my career started. Now that's done... I'm looking to try it out!

The cultural exchange is what I think is the best part about couchsurfing. I could do the touristy sight seeing things but I would love to learn about these same places through the perspective of a local. What it means to them! That's what I find more interesting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recording two records in Vancouver in the world renowned "Warehouse Studios" owned by Bryan Adams.

He has an amazing array of tea in the studio and once we had to reschedule recording because AC⚡️DC was coming in for a session.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My culinary skills are not impressive (at the moment anyway) but I can share stories of being in a "do it yourself" metal band. I also love going out to have a good time so I'm a great wing man that way. If you have the generosity to host, I will match that with a round of drinks or dinner on me!
