About Me

!!! ATTENTION, PLEASE READ!!!!
Before you keep reading the rest of the profile, I want to state that I don't do Couchsurfing to be a free hostel or a free tour guide, I can be, but I expect more than a polite request saying when you come and how many nights you need and that my profile looks cool. If you can't open communication with me as with a human being you think you can somehow relate to or connect with based on everything you see in my profile, then don't even write any requests or messages to me, I won't reply at all or send you this exact text you are just probably not reading right now.

To reiterate and explain to the slower ones: I AM NOT A FREE HOSTEL OR GUIDE, DO NOT WRITE ME IF THATS THE ONLY THING YOU SEE IN COUCHSURFING. Be original, make a joke, reference some movie or book I have here (and not just that you like it too, I want to see some contextual humor here, I want to host people, not social robots that were told how to be nice in order to get things and trust me, I will host you if you write something interesting and OUT OF ORDINARY), don't be just polite, don't be empty, don't be mediocre, be a human from the very first message and I will host you.

OK, now you can keep reading.

A thinker, talker, walker, and experience share-er :-) I'm an open-minded person that enjoys life as much as possible while doing what I always wanted (in terms of a job), and ever since I discovered Couchsurfing, I fell in love with meeting new people, sharing experiences and traveling.

I may be a bit nerdy (just look at my occupation :-).

I'm not really into writing any weird resumes about myself that can't really describe me. But I can give you this: I'm my own person and as much as I enjoy my own time and privacy, I also really enjoy social events with the right people at the right places at the right time.

PHILOSOPHY
We are all just self-aware actors in a lucid dream of the universe, created from itself and by itself to experience and get to know itself over and over again, so what are you waiting for? Go, live, experience!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I couch-surfed across half the world for a few years and met many great people from many countries, cultures, and backgrounds, some of them lifelong friends by now. I've seen and experienced and learned so much by meeting people on Couchsurfing and I will be forever grateful for having that option. One can say doing Couchsurfingsaved my life. So I just want to give back and host people when I have the space and time.

Interests

I am a game developer for 15 years already and if you are a gamer, chances are you may have played some of the games I worked on.
I published my short and long stories in 6 different books and e-books, so I'm a writer and I enjoy a good conversation about narrative techniques.
At some point I also did some film journalism, so any film fans are welcome as well.
Music, I love a good gig or jam where I can play drums as that is the only instrument I know how to play in a decent way so far.

Music, Movies, and Books

This is too huge of a topic to put it in here. Let's talk about that when I host you :-)

But in general:
Music: This will destroy you, Mono, Palindromes, Nujabes, Glitch Mob, Dillon, My Morning Jacket, Small Black, Blackbird Blackbird, Modest Mouse, The National, Muse, Portishead, Tame Impala, Nick Cave, Radiohead, White Stripes, The Raconteurs, Rolling Stones, Rise Against, Pearl Jam, and others ... plus all sorts of weird and obscure indie game soundtracks

My favourite books and writers: Ayn Rand books, Alan Watts,The Mythago Wood novels by Robert Holdstock, Kafka's bibliography, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, China Mieville books, Gabriel Garcia Marquez books, Stanislaw Lem books, A. C. Clarke books, etc ...

My favourite movies: Oldboy (the Korean version), Alien 1 and 2, 28 Days Later, Solaris (the 2001 version), Big Lebowski, Clerks 1, Napoleon Dynamite, Gentlemen's Bronco, Eagle versus shark, most of Kubrick's movies and many many more

TV Series: Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, The Lost Room, Game of Thrones (so far), Adventure Time, Regular Show, Cowboy Bebop, Samuray Champloo and more ...

Games: ... don't let me even start on this :-) (can't help it: Thief series, Planescape Tornment, System Shock 2, Bioshock series, Thomas Was Alone, Journey, Shadow of Colossus, TES series, Fallout series and tons of other games)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a drummer in a band we made at work to relax after work hours and play on team buildings to have a little fun with our coworkers. What's the amazing thing here? Well, I worked with my professional role models at the time on a project that ended up being a big deal and now has quite a big fan base and the company asked me and my bandmates if we can also play on the release party. Little did we know that means playing our little troll-rock in front of about 500 people including journalists :D Well, it was good fun, great moment, ask me more in person I guess :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about travelling, IT and tech in general, game dev, I love science in general, data analysis, ask me anything :-)
