ABOUT ME

I'm 28, and hail from the southern island of the beautiful Aotearoa, New Zealand. I have just been living in Shanghai for half a year and am bound for Madrid where I will spend a semester studying Spanish. Although I am majoring in Law and Politics, and have been working in corporate law, I am aiming towards a consulting career that will take me all over this overwhelming vast world of ours.
I have a penchant for paradigm shifting and love meeting people, sharing stories and immersing myself in whacko situations that lead me further down the path of universal understanding, or just general good times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've now had a few couchsurfing experiences around about Europe!
Being a 'kiwi', I have naturally become quite adept at couchsurfing on my own accord around our country, and beyond. However I really love what this platform has to offer and soak up some of the international couches through the network! I've also really enjoyed meeting up with people who can't actually host - but are keen to share and explore their own city!

Interests

I love the outdoors and exploring, whether its running half marathons, surfing, hiking, or anything that involves some action!
I also have a real interest in fashion, design and photography and enjoy writing arts features for magazines - and hence absolutely exploring galleries and museums everywhere I go!
I am quite a greenie with a passion for organic cuisine, growing herbs (not the illegal kind!), reading, learning new languages, discussing politics, philosophy, and watching foreign films, the weirder the better.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Representing my country at the International Meeting of States Parties to the International Coalition on Landmines in Cambodia was a life-changing experience and I was honoured to be selected as a Youth Leader. I feel strongly about disarmament and peace and security issues, and would love for all countries around the world to sign on to the Coalition on banning landmines.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a passion for education, and advocating for educational equality. I have previously worked as a brand ambassador for TeachFirst. So for me, opening up a space on couch surfing for sharing knowledge really appeals. I would love to contribute my knowledge in terms of my academic study in the legal and political realm. I also have academic research experience in sustainable agriculture and climate change adaptation, specifically in the Higher Asian region.
I absolutely want to be a lifelong learner and keep expanding my knowledge. I would be particularly interested in learning more from others about technology, software development, sustainability and the aspects of my languages, which are focused so far on Spanish and Chinese.
