About Me

Usually people use something like three words to describe themselves, but you can make pretty much anything sound nice so I will describe myself in short but effectivelly. I'm pretty easygoing, i like going places and discovering hidden gems, getting to know new cultures, while still having periods of time I have problems with communicating with unknown people, so don't feel ignored. It's not you, it's me :).

I lived in Paris for a year, and yes, it's the most beautiful city in the world. Architecture, culture and gourman heaven, I tell you. I might say Paris got me inspired to study cultural studies, but it was certainly a final push. I like hanging out with different people, especially when talking about the topics such as books, society or culture, nearby events.

In the meanwhile I am very active in few non governmental organisations, first cultural, second academic in the third is youth center. I'm trying to put all my energy into progress, into people and happiness, but it would be such a cliche to say I'm trying to make a world a better place, so I'm making the local environment richer by organising activities and cultural happenings. Quality stuff, I'd say, because in the mainstream flood I rarely find anything worth saving, so I mainly focus on underground, alternative culture and support young and creative artists.

I travel when I have time, usually after exam period or in summer and I'm usually all about peace, quiet and good food. The goal of every trip is getting lost and finding the stuff that lonely planet and tripadvisor missed. Every meeting with locals in unique and important experience, because if you endure in the conversation, every person you meet can teach you something new. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that people are rich in their diversity, in their stories, experiences and the magic is - the more we share, the more we have. I feel the same way with accommodation, meaning if you meet a kind person, don't send them to the nearest hostel/hotel. Make their trip amazing with things you normally do, cook them something you like, show them around. Same things I'd like to experience when I'm being hosted. Basically I'm on couchsurfing to support the community for it's sense of freedom, kindness and sharing.

Interests

While studying it's mostly improving my skills, let that be language skills, expanding my horizon or managing skills. I'm intrigued by different music, art of all forms and contents. And books. My bookshelf is regularly falling down because - books.

Music, Movies, and Books

Speaking of movies, I'd talk for days. My absolut favourite is The Night Train to Lisbon and then The Rumble Fish. In the last years I mostly watch non-american production movies - recently I watched the turkish Mustang which really inspired me .

Books: I hardly find time to read while studying, but still trying to read as much as I can. I've read most of American classics, the best yet is Fitzgerald's Gatsby. I recommend you reading a Slovenian author Vladimir Bartol and his Alamut or second one Al Araf.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Packed my things over night and moved to Paris. Went across Paris in slippers and pyjamas, not intentionally though.
