About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling through Australia, Asia (and maybe some other parts) for 9 months

ABOUT ME

A born and bred Dutch guy with a quirky sense of humor on a sabbatical year, travelling around the world.

I'm looking forward to discovering new places and meeting interesting and fun people from all corners of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

“...inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I'll be traveling for 9 months, I'll start off with meeting people from the Couchsurfing community and try some surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Beginner.

Back home I'm a regular couch provider for friends, but never had any real couchsurfers.

Interests

Diving, swimming, biking, watching a good movie or series, enjoying music and reading a good book.
And, ofcourse, going out with friends (or other friendly people) on all sorts of adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Pink Floyd and Muse
Books: Discworld novels and Prince of Nothing series
Movies: Tarantino movies, Pan's Labyrinth, Lost Highway and a lot more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing a live volcano, getting caught up in a sudden wave of mist and almost got trapped between eruptions! Thankfully, everyone survived the whole adventure.

Skydiving. It's simply amazing (and slightly insane) to jump out of plane flying far above the clouds!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always interested in learning about new things!

As for teaching something... I know a lot of pointless facts! Maybe some bookkeeping lessons? On second thought, let's just skip that ;)
