About Me

Hi, I'm Clodagh. I like waterfalls, rivers and beaches, and playing/listening to Irish music.

When I'm travelling, most of all I love making new friends and meeting people who are different to me. But I also really love second hand markets, yummy food and cafes, live music, making crafty things and festivals. I also like to talk about differing schools of economic thought :)

PHILOSOPHY

I think it is vital to listen to one another, and not allow ourselves to be unnecessarily divided. I want to share connections with people from all walks of life, and talk together about how to overcome the vast and growing inequality that is to me a hallmark of our time. Also to have fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've couchsurfed with folks in India, Ireland, Greece, Croatia, and Spain, and host, when I can, in Sydney. I'm interested in couchsurfing largely because of what I look for when travelling - I like to make connections with people and really chat, and I guess I feel like couchsurfing really facilitates that both when visiting and hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think couchsurfing enables travellers to connect with locals and with an area in a way that you can't through mainstream tourist experiences. I really value that.

Interests

I like to swim, I like festivals, I like new dresses and pretty stuff, I like radical economic theories, and new places to explore.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Irish folk music, traditional Indian music, trip hop and 90s pop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dancing to traditional Irish music in the dingy pubs of Westport, Ireland with this sick french canadian girl I met
Splashing in the water of the Upper Danube in Hungary with my buddy Jay Ray and a bunch of really cheeky local kids
Seriously lounging in a cafe next to a waterfall writing all day in Ubud, Indonesia
Trekking along the Cinque Terra, Italy, in 43 degree heat and swimming afterwards

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share flute playing, surfing, skiing, humm.... knitting! I can teach you the Irish tunes I know :) I would love to learn tunes from you too

I can share cooking skills (vege) and camping skills.

How to use DSLR, film SLR and other cameras. Also most photographic paraphenalia. And Photoshop CS4+.

I wanna learn about you and your stuff and the cafes and markets and music venues that you like! I'd like to learn how to cook people's fav dishes. If you know any sweet flute tunes that would be off the charts awesome. I also like to learn the guitar from people :)
