About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling to Japan, do woofing in Shizuoka and see places I've never seen there :)

ABOUT ME

Hello everyone!I'm Alma, a 25 years old girl who loves to travel. I was born in Madrid and I live in Toulouse since 2006. I'm a nurse here in Toulouse.
I'm very open-minded and I like to show people around places I know. I also love to cook and eat so when I travel I like to try new things.
On week-ends I go out with some friends, french or spanish, for drinks. I think you understood that I don't like to stay to long on my couch even if sometimes it feels good to watch a movie calmly.

PHILOSOPHY

I think happiness comes when you want to, it's obvious that somedays you think that everything goes wrong but even if it goes wrong I continue to smile (psychologically too) and searching always the negative things does'nt help anybody. So my philosophy is Smile and have fun, life is short and you never know what is going to happen. Live your life as it is!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I could host people and would love to but with my job I never know when I'll work so it's difficult to agree for a date or hour to welcome someone. I also share my house with two guys and one girl who are very open-minded but there are not always at home to welcome couchsurfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I never hosted someone I don't know at my place but I sign up on couchsurfing to start a new experience. I love to host friends and it seems that there are very pleased when they are at my place.

Interests

I work replacing nurses when they are sick or can't work and I love taking care of people. I speak Spanish since I was born in Madrid and lived there for 17 years. I also fluently speak French (my father is spanish and french and I studied in a french school in Madrid) and Japanese (my mother is japanese and she teaches it in Madrid).
I already said that I love to cook and travel. I also like to read, watch movies and go out with my friends. I play piano and can't stand not to do some work out (swim) once in a week. There's no one day I don't listen to music and I also love to dance even if I'm not very good at it haha

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy many style of books from manga to classic novels. The last books I read are "1Q84" by Murakami, "The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared" by Jonas Jonasson and his latest book, which has not yet been translated into English, about the story of an illiterate. The book I'm reading now is in Japanese and it's called "I'm a cat" by Soseki Natsume.

I enjoy any kind of movie but I think my favourites are Ghibli's movies because I grew up with them.

I listen to a lot of music styles. I grew up in the world of classical music with my parents (I'd rather play classical piano) but my brothers listened to punk rock and alternative rock and so did I. I love bands like "Arctic Monkeys", "Death cab for cutie", "The Black Keys". I also like rap like "The Four owls" that I recently discovered. I think my Japanese origins and the fact that I love anime make me also love j-pop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing things I've done...maybe going to Japan every summer until my 17 and also going to La Réunion to visit my brother. I've seen wonderful places in those two countries and I can't wait to discover more beautiful places in this world.
I don't want to be pretentious but I think the most amazing thing I've ever done is saving a patient's life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach anyone how to cook simple meals from whatever is in the fridge or more sophisticated meals too. I could teach piano too event if I've lost practice over the last year but it can be an opportunity to play piano again! Since I currently speak french, spanish and japanese it won't be a problem to teach those languages to anyone who is interested.
My family offered me a camera for my 25 birthday so it will be great to learn how to really use it even though I'm going to learn with a friend on a trip to Japan on April but it's always interesting from other people too.
